Audi Cars steal the show at the Auto Expo 2012

Audi India, the subsidiary of Audi, showcased its entire product line up comprising of Q3, the compact SUV to the camera-magnet R8 Spyder during the Auto Expo 2012.

Audi Q3:

The star at the Audi pavilion was certainly the yet to launched Q3 compact luxury SUV. Mr. Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the board of management of Audi for marketing and sales along with Michael Perschke, head, Audi India at Pragati Maidan were present during the Auto Show. The Audi Q3 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds and can attain a maximum speed of 317 kmph. The Audi Q3 is expected to compete with BMW X3. The Audi Q3 is likely to come with a petrol and diesel engine option which is going to be mated to dual-clutch S- Tronic transmission. It will be equipped with a 2 litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine churning out 211 bhp power and a 2 litre 176 bhp turbo-diesel engine. The Audi Q3, when launched in India will squarely be targeting for the BMW X1 customer.

Audi A8 L:

Audi India displayed the high-security version of Audi A8 L at the Auto Expo 2012. The Audi A8 L Security is equipped with a 6.3 litre W12 engine which churns out 513.6 bhp power and torque of 625 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 7.3 seconds and can attain a peak speed of 210 kmph. The A8 L Security is Class VR 7 ballistic protection standard compliant.

Audi A3 e-tron concept:

Audi A3 e-tron concept which was displayed in the Auto Expo depicts a technically sound vehicle. The sedan is equipped with features like upgraded MMI operating system, best-in-class infotainment system and drivetrain. It has 1.4 litre TFSI motor churning out 211 bhp power coupled with a 27 bhp electric motor.

Audi S6:

The Audi S6 is equipped with a 4 litre Twin Turbo V8 motor churning out 414 bhp power. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 in less than 5 seconds. It can be used for day to day commuting.

The 5.2 litre V10 R8 Spyder sportscar by Audi was also displayed at the auto expo.

New Audi A8 to be Launched in India on January 10th 2011

In the Indian market, while BMW and Mercedes Benz have been reigning over the luxury car segment, Audi has been keeping a rather low profile. But, not anymore. Audi is all ready with the launch of the 2011 Audi A8 L set for the 10th January 2011. Months ago when we wrote about the 2011 Audi A8 L, we explained in detail the exclusive features of the luxurious car.

The 2011 Audi A8 L will be in direct competition with the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes Benz S Class, but it will have to sweat a lot to establish itself because the Merc and Beemer are already established luxury brands that the rich and famous of India love to cruise around in. But it is high time that Audi proved its mettle in the Indian market and gave BMW and Mercedes a taste of its own snootiness.

The Audi A8 will come with two engine options. Those who want frugality, can opt for the 3.0 V6 TDI Diesel while people who would choose luxury over anything else, there is very sweet 4.2 V8 TSI Petrol. Yes, that is a turbo petrol engine and one of the very best that the company has to offer.

But the 2011 Audi A8 is not something that would give you a chance to flaunt your shove and twist abilities on the road. It is best for the people who want backseat luxury. People who are used to travelling in airline first class seat will take to the Audi A8 L’s cavernous rear like ducks to water. There are two power-adjustable and heated individual seats as an option for the rear, which can be paired with the optional continuous, elegantly-styled centre console with large storage compartments. And the two individual seats can also be strapped with optional ventilation and massage functions.

The Audi A8 L interiors would probably remind you of a Bentley, but the latter would probably disrobe you in the process of the purchase, while the Audi A8 L would leave you with just enough for the fuel.

‘L’ For Luxury – The Audi A8 L

No one comes close to German car manufacturers when it comes to producing luxury cars. No wonder then that the latest piece of luxury comes from another German car maker too. Yes, Audi recently presented the new top-end version of its flagship model A8 with long-wheelbase that sets new standards for luxury, dynamics and efficiency. The Audi A8 L will be rolled out towards the end of the year 2010.

The Audi A8 L will come in five different engine options including the powerful twelve-cylinder that can churn out an impressive 500 bhp. Then there are two three-litre V6 units: a TDI with 250 bhp and a TFSI producing 290 bhp.

Additionally there are two V8 engines, both with a displacement of 4.2 litres, the TDI producing 350 bhp and the FSI with 372 bhp. But the big daddy of all is the W12, a gasoline engine with superior power that develops 500 bhp with a displacement of 6.3 litres.

The efficiency of the A8 L has been enriched by the eight-speed tiptronic transmission, which has high overall gear ratios and can be controlled using either the selector lever or paddles on the steering wheel. The Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system gives a sporty nature to the car.

The Audi A8 L measures up to 5.27 meters, and is longer by about 13 centimetres compared to the standard version. Of course this move comes in the wake up increasing rear seat comforts. The Audi A8 L will be reaching the Indian market by this year end. And it is quite likely that it will be imported as a CBU. The Audi A8 ‘Luxury’ comes with a price to match. With the base variant, the 3.0 TDI, costing €79,900 and the top-end variant as much as €137,000, the car is as expensive as luxurious.
