After introducing a slew of launches in the Indian car market, Volkswagen now wants to introduce motor sports in the country.
Polo Cup is a motor sport launched by Volkswagen first in China, then in US and now in India. The company desires to launch this motor sports in all the countries where it has its manufacturing plant. In India, this sports is expected to launch somewhere in 2010.
The company also uses this launch as a new marketing strategy. It is believed that the trained officials of the company will train young and talents to participate in the international racing circuit.
The company’s first target for the motor race was a Chennai-based Indian formula driver Ashwin Sundar. This 19-year old boy will first take part in the Indian race and will then be groomed to participate in the race on the European circuit.
