The ace Formula 1 car racer and now NASCAR driver Narain Karthikeyan just got presented a Nissan GT-R supercar by Nissan Motor India. Isn’t that super news? Have the Indian car prices gone low? Just kidding! The superman of Indian Motor racing was presented the supercar by Nissan Motor India's CEO and MD, Kiminobu Tokuyama at a ceremony held at Madras Motor Sports Club, Irrungattukottai near Chennai. Abhijeet Pandit, vice-president (Operations), Hover Automotive India and other Nissan officials were also witnessed the occasion. Padmashri Narain Karthikeyan is not a new name to Indians. He is the fastest Indian on wheels. But did you know that this self-proclaimed fan of performance cars had a soft corner for the Nissan GT-R. The racer had also driven the supercar on the test track for some hot laps. And whoa! That was real treat for the eyes. The power of the multi-performance supercar was simply mind blowing. The Nissan GT-R is sure a multi-performance supercar. It has the super ability of fulfilling every dream that a driver can ever dream of. That is why the car is believed to belong to a completely new, out-of-this-world category of supercars. If you are now thinking that the Nissan GT-R must be fulfilling all the eligibility criteria of a supercar, that’s not all. Anyone, anytime, anywhere can enjoy the ultimate performance of this ultimate car. Just go for a drive and you would know what we are talking. A ride in the supercar can offer great excitement that no one in the world may have ever experienced. The car’s interiors are loaded with electronics and decent bucket seats. The ergonomics are dead right; the knob for seat adjustment and the padded steering wheel just perfectly positioned for max track attack. The Nissan GT-R had registered the world’s fastest ever lap time for a mass-produced supercar at the Nurburgring circuit. The lap time was less than seven and a half minutes as recorded in April 2009. The sports cruising in this Nissan car is just another great feature that lets the driver enjoy a comfortable ride from time to time. The driver just has to shift the A-range automatic gear shift into the Resort mode. There’s a switchable suspension, with “normal” and “comfort” meant for the tracks and smooth streets respectively. The Nissan’s four wheel-drive system works to put all the power to the ground like a lightning bolt. The turbo-charged engine has minimal lag, and so, there isn’t huge torque upon tip-in. But as soon as the manumatic transmission hooks up and boost appears, an amazing 500 bhp reveals itself. The Nissan GT-R has the fuel efficiency and environmental sensitivity required in a 21st century supercar. Labels: Indian-Car-Prices, Nissan-Car, Nissan-GT-R, Supercar

Formula One automaker McLaren has launched an ultra-high-end exotic automobile, whose performance is superior to that of its contemporaries. The very expensive, very fast and very powerful car with sporting handling to match is all set to capture the high-performance commercial sports car market. Will the sleek, eye-catching car succeed? We hope so. The new supercar will go into production in 2011. 1,000 cars are expected to leave the production facility next year. The MP4-12C will be modeled on technology used by McLaren’s Formula One team. What will the very expensive price of the pricey car be? Well, it is a 150,000 pounds or 1,02,05,328 Indian Rupees so to say. That’s not too much for a supercar, right? The production of the car is creating 300 new jobs and that’s something nice. 1,000 units in 2011 and 4,000 by 2015. This is what McLaren has planned. You will see not just one, but a series of such cars. Isn’t that amazing? Yes, we will hopefully see a series of top-end sports cars in a few years from now. McLaren says that it had always dreamt of producing a range of high-performance sports cars that took raw elements of Formula 1 principles. It now sees the dream slowly turning into reality. The company has made limited numbers of more expensive supercars in the past, but never this many. McLaren's achievements in F1 have made it the sport's second most successful team after Ferrari. With the launch of the new car, it is scaling new heights. There have been other iconic British sports car makers that pushed their sales into large-scale manufacturing. Many of them tasted failure. Does McLaren fear that? Not a bit. At the moment, the company seems to be highly optimistic and does not want to be, in any way, offending any other small car manufacturer that hasn’t succeeded in any motor sport. That’s quite a point there. A series of cars inspired by Formula One, built on the pride and passion to the highest quality and rich in McLaren DNA is what McLaren is looking at. McLaren Automotive chairman Ron Dennis said that the plans confirmed their intentions of challenging convention at the highest levels of automotive design, from a hi-tech facility; a home that will deliver expertise and innovation in manufacturing and engineering and not to forget, jobs too. The 12C will be built at a specially designed plant south of London which will start production by 2011. McLaren has high hopes about the North American car market. The new supercar will be sold through retailers in 19 countries and it expects 40 per cent of the sale to come from North America alone. Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg Group AB on Tuesday has backed out on its potential deal with GM to buy its Saab car brand. Call it an example of “bad timing”. That’s just what Koenigsegg Group AB’s chairman Augie K. Fabela II calls it as. He says the decision to pull out of the deal was purely due to the timing, but funding issues had been worked out. It was just a matter of executing he plan and the plan was fully funded. KoenigseggGroup AB took some precautionary steps in earlier months to secure the deal after in August it said it lacked about 3 billion kronor ($417 million) to conclude the deal. The company went to the Swedish National Debt Office about the government guarantee for the loan it needed to buy the unit. Though official amount for the acquisition was never announced, it was rumored that GM would get about $500 million dollars. GM Chief Executive Fritz Henderson said the company was "obviously disappointed," but "will take the next several days to assess the situation and will advise on the next steps next week." The dead in the water deal lays question to the future of Saab. Saab was one of the brands GM announced it would shed as part of its bankruptcy reorganization earlier this year. It currently employs 4,500 employees a majority of which live in Sweden. GM in recent months has been eliminating existing inventory and taking steps to handover the company to Koenigsegg Group AB, a move it must now reverse. GM might be able to find another buyer for Saab though, automakers in China and India have been buying brands from restructuring US automakers. Last year Ford sold the Jaguar and Land Rover brands to Indian automaker Tata and GM recently sold its Hummer brand to Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corp. Bugatti is celebrating its rich heritage of 100 years in the automobile business. Since 1909, the company is known for producing some of the best supercars across the globe. The journey was fondly started by Ettore Bugatti who was known as an eccentric genius in the area of car manufacturing. Continuing its legend the company is now planning to bring in a new supercar that will be displayed in the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Christened as Bugatti Centenaire, the proposed Bugatti’s car is to lighten the show with extraordinary style, glamour, and power. There are speculations that it is a facelifted Veyron that is considered to be one of the fastest cars in the world. But no, it’s a completely new car with a new and heart rendering design and comprising a completely different set of technologies. There are rumours that the Centenaire will behold a beastly 8.0-litre, 16 cylinder (W16) quad-turbo Bugatti engine that will amazingly deliver a power output of 1350 hp. This incredible car will definitely put the Bugatti’s stall on fire at the Geneva Show this year. Can you image a million dollar car painted with personalized colours and designs? Some may and some may not. But that's what the renowned Indian painter, M.F. Hussain did. Apparently, this great painter bought a new Bugatti Veyron in Dubai for his son Maqbool Fida. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is India’s most expensive and fastest car along with being the world's fastest production car. It is capable of producing 1001 PS and run over 400 km/h. This extraordinary car is artistically crafted with creativity and passion to push the car beyond the horizon of aesthetic integrity, technical precision, and automotive engineering. The renowned artist has bestowed a new look to the car with its creativity. This scintillating car with transform look and style carries Maqbool’s initials imprinted on the seat. M.F. Hussain is on exile and no one knows when this controversial painter will go back to the drawing boards. But, things have definitely taken a new turn in the car industry with more car enthusiasts wishing to paint their cars. Labels: Bugatti-Veyron, Car-Industry, Supercar

Bentley carrying the gene to craft the world’s most respected high performance cars is gearing up to unveil one more speed giant in the global car market. The latest entrant from the Bentley’s stable the Flying Spur and the Continental GT Speed are considered to be among the most winning and fastest cars in the industry. Though Bentley Continental GT is one of the fastest luxury cars in the market, it lacks a green conscience. Unpredictably, now the car manufacturer is planning to unveil its fastest car ever along with the desire to embrace the green agenda. Yes, this time Bentley urges to build a green portfolio with the launch of its new car. Known to be driven by biofuel, the new Bentley car would obviously give environment conscious car buyers an extra amount of peace and satisfaction. And the most exciting thing is that there are no compromises made on power, performance, and luxury. Expecting to see a 40% reduction in its carbon dioxide output, the proposed Bentley's car would bring a new revolution in the car industry. Sadly, the fastest Bentley’s car is still under veils and there are no specifications revealed except that the car would be completely based on its successful Continental GT foundation. It is said that even the leading fast car manufacturer Shelby SuperCar (SSC) is also set to unveil its 100% clean, green, and super-fast machine. Its Ultimate Aero TT is still one of the fastest cars in the world. And now the introduction of Bentley’s green supercar would definitely spark a tough competition between the two companies.
