The world debut of the marvelous Porsche Panamera at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition becomes a unique display with the car being exhibited on the world’s highest platform. The first public appearance of the car was celebrated at the 13th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition with great enthusiasm and excitement. The introduction of the Panamera marks the beginning of a completely new segment of premium luxury cars with a truly unique combination of sporting performance and luxurious comfort. The world class car was distinctively brought to the 94th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center in China standing straight up in the freight elevator. It is believed that the 94th floor of this center is world’s highest platform that is about 425 meters high. And taking this huge luxury car to such a height standing straight is dazzling. We just wonder how the volunteers of the show thought about this idea and how the people there managed to take the Panamera on the world’s highest platform. We all have heard of the saying 'Born with the Silver Spoon'. This phrase is used for a person who is born rich and have everything required to spend a luxurious life. This expression perfectly fits for the son of popular soccer player David Beckham. David Beckham being a passionate car lover has gifted his elder son Brooklyn, a ultra-small Porsche sports car worth Rs 3.5 million. This customized small single-seater car is handcrafted and powered by the diesel engine. This expensive little toy car is just used for joyride in the backyard of David's mansion. Such an expensive toy can be afforded only by high society people. In India the trend of gifting expensive cars by the renowned personalities is quite common these days. Very soon the expensive toys will be seen in India and the days are not far when we will see kids going to nursery in their mini Merc or BMW! Labels: BMW-Cars, Porsche-Cars, Sports-Car

With Audi and BMW planning a slew of new car launches, Porsche also moves in line with them. All the car manufacturers are heading for generation change and facelifts to give a completely new picture to the Indian car market. There are speculations that many of the Porsche cars have been found undergoing testing and benchmarking activities. The Porsche Panamera, a new Cayenne, new generation 911 and the new Boxster Speedster are some of the proposed cars set to be rolled out from Porsche's stable. The new diesel version of Cayenne will be propelled by a turbo-charged engine supplied by Audi. The launch of the diesel version is credited to the increasing demand of more fuel-efficient cars in the auto market. The next generation 911 would feature the flat-six engine to boost power and performance. Following the launches, the company would also launch the Boxster Speedster with a dome behind headrest, lower windshield, and modified canvas hood. The car is known to be powered by improved engine technology that would deliver 303 bhp. Porsche eyes the new car launches with heightened hopes and aspirations. There are speculations that a London-based car customization firm, Alchemy, is promoting its business by wrapping car roofs with 24-carat gold. After the Gold Porsche and the diamond covered Mercedes-Benz, the trend of wrapping car exteriors with gold is heading ahead. But, we doubt whether car consumers will invest heavily in such a kind of customization. We wonder whether a gold plated car roof will lure customers or not. Alchemy also excels in embedding gemstones in the gold panel. The company is demanding a high price for covering the cars with gold. Its may be exciting with a wonderful aesthetic appeal but not sure whether people would invest a high amount here or not. And even if they would, this era of downturn does not seem to be a right time for investing so much for just the exterior look. These days’ car buyers are more specific about fuel-efficiency and performance. They are concern about the styling and visual appeal but not something like a gold plated car roof, at least not at this particular time. Labels: Fuel-efficiency, Mercedes-Benz-Cars, Porsche-Cars

‘Nano’s diamond miniature’ sounds exciting. We all have heard about the gold plated Porsche and the diamond studded Mercedes-Benz but talking about a diamond studded Nano is strange. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are high-end premium luxury cars and people will definitely be attracted towards the outstanding aesthetic appeal of these cars wrapped with gold and diamonds. But, it’s difficult to imagine a 1 Lakh car covered with diamonds. Who’s actually going to invest such a huge amount on the world’s cheapest car? Though the commercial launch of Nano would be a remarkable event in the history of car industry but then too adorning it with costly stones is just not digestible. Yes it’s true that Nano was found covered with diamonds but only a miniature version and not the actual car. Amazingly, a renowned jeweler created a diamond studded miniature of the world’s cheapest car. The glittering miniature of the Nano was unveiled at a popular jewellery show, IIJS (India International Jewellery Show) 2008, in Mumbai. You would be surprise to know that about 15,568 diamond pieces worth 243,870 carat is used to embellish the tiny Nano model. With so much of embellishment, glitter, and artistry, the diamond studded Nano won bunch of appreciations and applauds from jewellery lovers across the country. The shimmering Nano even won the best design award at the show. As we all are waiting for the launch of Tata Nano with bated breath, we wish that the car actually rolls out with a similar excitement, thrill, and appreciation. Obviously, not covered with diamonds but definitely with a blend of power, performance, promised fuel-efficiency, and price tag. Labels: luxury cars, Porsche-Cars, tata nano

With nearly about 50 new car models rolling out next year, Porsche also announces the launch of its four-door, four-seater luxury sedan 'Panamera' in late 2009. Porsche takes 2009 as a consolidation year in India and has tied high hopes to the upcoming year. Being over excited about the launch, the company desires to merge the debut of this sedan with its global car launch expected to take place in late 2009. The company also strives to expand its dealership base in the country across different cities in order to promote its brand name across the industry. Also a pre-owned car business will become a part of Porsche by late 2009. This means that the year 2009 will be profitable for the car manufacturer. A new luxury car on roll, increased number of dealerships, and venture into used car business would all make the upcoming year a winning year for Porsche in India. Anyone who has the passion for gold now has an opportunity to enjoy the golden moments with ‘Gold Porsche’. Awesome Gold Porsche is the first gold plated car. Not only the exterior, the steering wheel, wheels, door panels, door knobs, alloy rim and other control keys are also exclusively wrapped with 22 carat beaten gold. It’s really difficult to believe that a car is completely enveloped with gold plates. But that’s the fact! The best part of the car is that you can customize your requirement as to which car part you want to be goldenized. The German luxury car manufacturer, Porsche, has introduced the limited version of its Gold Porsche Boxster. If you really have a heavy bank account that can bare Rs 9 million and the burning desire to be wrapped in gold then buying a Gold Porsche would be a great choice. If yes, then Gold Porsche would be a complete blend of outstanding luxury, pure lifestyle, and unmatched aesthetics. Labels: Car-Manufacturer, Luxury-Cars, Porsche-Cars
