Those of you who are expecting a foreign life of Tata Motors' little wonder, Nano, can hold back their thoughts for the time being. The company has now announced that it is not planning to export Nano in the near future. Instead the company wants to concentrate more on pleasing their domestic customers. After all the company is thinking in the right lines. It needs to fulfill the bonds of the native land.
The company is now concentrating on meeting the domestic demands and then shifting their interest to exporting the Nano to other countries. The company has huge pending orders and it is doubtful whether the company will be able to deliver them any sooner.
The company has cleared the safety test at the European and American countries. And we were expecting that the company has plans to launch the car in Europe and America some time soon. We thought that the ultra cheap car from Tata will be launched in the American and European countries by 2012. But now it doesn’t look so.
The company was aiming to make Nano available even to the common man in the country. And it doesn't seem that the company would give up before it achieves this goal.
Now, there can be another reason, the company will be facing tougher competition in India, with more and more companies aiming to reach out the customers with ultra cheap cars. The auto major Nissan is planning to launch an ultra cheap car in the country, the clock maker Ajanta is another example. And so Tata will be getting ready for the struggle. While we were writing about the Nissan small car that the company was planning to launch in India, Thailand, and China, little did we know that Nissan was in fact targeting the Nano. Nissan wants to break the vivid market, which the Tata Nano has managed to build.
We would not be surprised, this could be the dream of any car maker, such is the acceptance of Nano not only in India but throughout the world. Nano has been stealing the limelight for long now and Nissan wants to substitute itself with the little wonder, Nano. The new small car from Nissan will be launched in March 2010. But it is expected that, for the car to come to India, it will take another two months since its launch in March.
The new small car from Nissan is named V, where V stands for Versatility. And Nissan is expected to sell one million Vs by 2013.
There are other car makers whom we thought would launch cars so that they can compete with the customers' favorite Nano. But breaking our expectations, Fiat recently denied any plans of the company to launch ultra-cheap cars. Now we will all set out hopes on Nissan.
Thinking deep about what in Nano lures the customers, anyone would say, the price. And so Nissan also focuses on the pricing, which the company believes will win over the customers. Labels: Nissan, Nissan-Cars, Nissan-Small-Cars, small-cars-India, Ultra-cheap-Car

Japanese car giant Nissan will roll out the Murano in India by the first half of the next year.
The Murano is a premium Sports utility Vehicle (SUV) that was first manufactured by Nissan in December 2002 and sold as a 2003 model and was launched in the United States as a crossover vehicle to complement the Pathfinder.
The Murano was initially scheduled for a rollout this year. It will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Japan.
The SUV is likely to be priced between Rs 35 Lakh and Rs 40 Lakh and will stand against the Toyota Prado, BMW X3, Mitsubishi Montero and Mercedes Benz M-Class.
The Nissan Murano is likely to come in three variants, namely, the base S, the mid-grade SL and the top of the line LE. This all-wheel drive (AWD) SUV is expected to carry a 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine under its bonnet.
The Nissan Murano is likely to have aluminium interior accents, leather seats, rain sensing wipers, memory seats and mood lighting. The Murano will also boast an 11-speaker Bose unit along with a 9.3GB hard disk storage device.
It was been revealed that Nissan will first assess its prospects in the competitive SUV segment in India before getting into small cars. Nissan is expected to launch the small car Micra by March 2010. The small car will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai. The Micra will be manufactured in five countries including India, China and Thailand.
After launching the hatchback in 2010, Nissan plans to unveil a sedan in 2011 and a compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).
The name 'Murano' comes from a region of Venice, Italy which is known for the hand blown glass produced there. Labels: Nissan-Cars, Nissan-Micra, Nissan-SUVs, Premium-SUVs, SUVs-India

Nissan is in the path of fulfilling its promise of launching more cars in India within the next three years. Colin Dodge, Nissan's executive vice-president for Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, has now given the Indian car lovers a pleasant news. Dodge was on an official tour to India and it was then he announced this new plan of the company. Nissan is in the process of developing a brand new platform. And the new platform the company is working on is codenamed ‘V’. ‘V’ stands for versatile.
The company will use this new concept for its new small car, which the company has planned to launch in China, Thailand, and India. Nissan had conceptualized this new platform four years back in 2005 at its R&D centre in Japan. This new platform is assigned for the new generation cars from Nissan. The company is working on this new platform so that it will meet the demands of the global market.
We are not yet sure as to which variant the company will launch in India, petrol or diesel. But we know that Nissan will produce three cars on this platform. But Indian market will get to see only two of them. We will witness the launch of the first model sometime in May 2010, two months after it will be launched in Thailand. This first car will be produced in five countries and India will be one among them. And cars manufactured in India will be exported to African countries, Europe, and some countries in the Middle East. The new V cars will have 18 per cent fewer parts, when compared to a normal compact car from Nissan. For example, when a normal small car from Nissan has 85 front seat pieces, the cars based on this new platform will have only 50.
V platform would be produced in three different sections globally. And in this the production of two models has been finalized. The first model will be a next-generation Micra, and the production of the car will begin in May next year and the sedan in 2011. It is not sure whether the company will launch its third model in India. This will be a compact multi utility vehicle.
V-platform has been principally engineered for India and China. The Western versions of the V-cars will have extra importance on more refinement and body control. The V-platform will be spacious, compact and light weight. It will have a 3-cylinder, small engine and a small fuel tank of 41 litres. Despite the recession cloud hovering over the car industry, Nissan has taken a bold step to introduce eight new car models in India by 2012. These models will include both imported as well as locally produced cars from the Chennai plant. Among the new launches, the company will initially focus on the small car Micra. Though there is no confirm news about the launch of Micra, it is expected to hit the Indian shores by 2010. Micra also called March will be positioned against the Maruti Suzuki Swift and will be come in both petrol and diesel versions. Wrapped in aluminium, the new petrol model will sport a light weight 1.2-litre three cylinder engine with superior fuel efficiency. The diesel variant will be fitted with a 1.5-litre Renault engine that is currently being used in the Mahindra-Renault Logan. Micra will be then followed by another model from the sedan segment which will compete with the Swift Dzire and will be built on the Micra platform. The all-new sedan will come with more powerful petrol and diesel engines. The list does ends here, it is also speculated that the company is planning to bring in a compact SUV and a MUV for the Indian buyers which will be produced at Chennai plant. The rest car models will be imported which include the all-new Teana, X-Trail, Murano Crossover, and the 370Z (a sports car). It seems Nissan has aggressive plans to engulf the enticing Indian car market as it is also looking forward to expand its car dealership from 5 to 35 by 2012. Looks like for couple of more years we have to enjoy the goodness of Renault through the Logan only as Renault’s plan to introduce new cars by 2010 into the Indian market has been put on hold. Shockingly, it has even slowdown its investment plan for the Chennai plant for which the company has announced an investment of Rs 4,500 Crore along with its partner company Nissan. Earlier, Renault planned to roll out cars based on four platforms from the Chennai plant with a production capacity of 2 Lakh cars. While Renault halts its plan to roll cars from Chennai facility, Nissan revealed that it will continue working on the small car project and would definitely roll out the Micra from the plant. Initially, Renault was planning to launch cars from almost every segment in India. Car models like the Megane, Sandero, Twingo, and the Laguna were in the list and were also displayed at the 2008 Auto Expo, New Delhi. But the recession infected car market has compelled the car manufacture to freeze most of its plans for now. However, it is speculated that the Megane and the Sandero models will make their entry in the scheduled date and these cars will be rolled out from the Nasik plant. Renault’s plan for India is not completely withdrawn, it is just taking careful steps seeing the uncertain market conditions. There is every chance of witnessing Renault’s new cars once the market condition bounce back to normal. Labels: New-Car-Launch, Nissan-Cars, Renault-Cars

The modes of travelling have come a long way from steam engines to space ships witnessing unique and innovative concepts with the passage of time. Cars being one of them have seen many latest modifications and advanced technologies. Fascinatingly, Nissan has created an astounding concept utilizing its design ingenuity and technological prowess. This ingeniously named, Pet Pivo concept was showcased for the first time in India at the 'Nissan Technology and Design Square' held at Techfest 09, Mumbai. Techfest is a college festival organized by IIT every year to display extraordinary advancements in science and technology. And this festival aspires to spread the illumination of creativity of genius people who have transformed ordinary and novel ideas to extraordinary innovations. Nissan’s Pet Pivo concept was a surprise sensation at the festival because of its revolutionary technology with a 360 degree turning cabin and 90 degree turning wheel. Originally, Nissan Pivo is an innovative three-seat commuter car with a rotating cabin and the futuristic new Pivo 2 concept is a brilliantly designed car that proposes the intelligent robotic agents. Carrying a perfect combination of fun, functionality, and bonding between the car and the driver, the Pivo 2 concept was designed to run in urban environment. The car is powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries and equips 'by-wire' technology for steering and braking. All the four wheels are powered by electric In-wheel 3D Motor that allows the wheels to turn 90 degrees and allows it to move in any desired direction that too without the assistance of reversing. So, a car like this makes reversing obsolete. The most interesting fact about the car is an innovative robotic agent that communicates with the driver sharing every journey with him. This intelligent robot understands and speaks both Japanese and English language. As it sounds, the car would really be a fun to drive with the smart drivetrain and a conversing robot. Future of Nissan in India seems to be bright with a portfolio of new car ready to enter the Indian car market. Today, we have only two cars from the Nissan's stable in the country, the X-Trail and the Teana. But now the car manufacturer makes big plan for the country. Along with its global alliance partner the Renault, Nissan has signed a joint venture with Bajaj to introduce its ultra-low-cost car. Though the car is yet in the realm of imaginations, it will soon crack the Indian car market. In near future, Nissan also plans to introduce new versions of its X-Trail and Teana. The new X-Trail will hopefully be a CBU from Nissan's Kyushu plant. It will be built on the platform of Nissan Qashqai and will have a new four-cylinder, 2-litre turbo diesel common rail engine. It also plans a new Teana for India with similar dimensions and significant interior modifications. Even the design will be modified to contemporary European styling. The new Teana will be powered by an extremely popular 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine. Then in line, Nissan also has the Murano that is again in association with its alliance partner Renault. It will thankfully be introduced with new design, features, and technologies to suit the taste of Indian car buyers. It will be powered by an advanced VQ-series 3.5-litre, DOHC, V6 mated with Xtronic CVT and Adaptive Shift Control for smoother driving experience. Sports coupe coming to India? Yes…No. It’s still not sure whether Nissan will introduce its new sports coupe in India or not. But it’s sure that the car will make its worldwide debut at the LA Auto Show in November 2008. The company has also published first pictures of its elegant and classy looking 370Z sports coupe. Nissan’s new sports car is a fully redesigned and revamped version of its iconic car model 350Z that was launched in 2003. The new 370Z is expected to be a perfect blend of style, performance, power, and handling. However, the company has plans to bring this sports coupe to India by early 2009 as a CBU model. But nothing can be confirmed until the final launch date is released by the company. Till then, we can only wish the scintillating sports coupe to enter the Indian sub-continent.
