The latest big thing from the Tata’s stable is that Tata Motors Ltd. will manufacture around 25,000 Jaguar XJ luxury cars annually. This production will start from next quarter. This new initiative from Tata is a bid to take customers from Bayerische Motoren Werke AG’s 7 Series and Daimler AG’s Mercedes S Class.

The Jaguar XJ is a luxury sedan and it is made of aluminum body. The sedan will be manufactured at the company’s factory at Castle Bromwich, England.

It is expected that the United States will account for about half the car’s sales. In number of Jaguar XJs sold through October in the United States alone are 1,082. The number is less compared to 2,038 Jaguar XJs that was sold during the same period in 2008. The automaker had suspended the production of the previous model in March.

The new Jaguar XJ will be spotted with a more modern and stylish look. And this is very different from the previous model, which had a traditional English look.

It was in June 2008 that Ford Motor Co. sold the Jaguar and Land Rover brands to Tata Motors for $2.4 billion. This amount was less than half the price Ford had paid for the company.

Now, the Indian car crazy crowd should wait, wait for long, before the Jaguar XJ gets launched in India. In fact we do not know whether it will be launched in India!

You would be wondering why there are so many blogs on Nano. And the answer is very simple, Nano is filling up all the news columns. In fact Nano is trying to steal the limelight. And with each new and exciting invention of Tata on Nano, the company is proving that nothing will substitute the position of Nano. And it seems that Tata will show its special interest towards Nano ever.

Within the next few months it is expected that Nano will receive some significant ugrades. And these upgrades depend on the Feedback that the company has received from the customers. And the most important of the changes is that the rev limit of the Nano will be raised from 5000rpm to 6000rpm. The new raised rev will help to quicken the acceleration, especially in the first and second gears.

The Nano will also receive a modified outside rear view mirror assembly. And the company is waiting the approval of the ARAI for introducing the ORVM. The new ORVM is less burdensome compared to the existing one. When the entire unit has to be moved for the present ORVM the new design will allow the mirror to move within the housing.

The difficulty in opening the trunk of the Nano by folding the rear seat will be now resolved. And this can be achieved through a tail gate that can be opened.

The company is also planning to introduce a five-speed gearbox. But there is very less chance for this to be introduced in India.

Tata has new plans for its favourite kid Nano. It has been seven months since Nano has been launched by Tata. And within this short period, the car has been filling the news columns for all possible reasons. If it was once for being the cheapest car, then it was for receiving record bookings and the next time for not delivering the car to the customers on time. And recently Nano was in the news for not a pleasant reason. Nano was spreading panic among its customers by literally catching fire. But Tata was able to tackle the problem easily. And assured the customers it would never happen again.

Now Tata is having a new idea. And within a few days you might know that Tata will allow local garage assemblers to put together Nano and also to sell it under a brand name of their own.

This will be the first attempt of its kind, where a car will be manufactured by many under different brand names. What makes Tata so liberal? We do not know.

The company is expected to allow the assemblers to start micro-assembly sites in different parts of the country, where each of them produces some 10,000 cars per year.

Now we should watch out for the different names Nano will get from different manufacturers in the future. But will the new brand names that the car will receive in the future do the same magic as "Tata Nano".

Tata Nano is the car that brought in the trend of small ultra cheap cars. In fact Tata gave the courage and encouragement to the car makers in the country to make ultra cheap cars that will lure the buyers. Tata was in the news for a long time and is still in the news connected to the Nano. And we expected many companies to join Tata, launching ultra cheap cars and Fiat was one among them. We were literally celebrating each and every news that came out regarding the launch of ultra cheap cars. And we had our hopes high especially with Fiat, as Fiat has now tied up with Tata. But what you are going to read will certainly pull your expectations down, especially if you were waiting for an ultra cheap from Fiat.

The speculation about Fiat launching a small car was very much alive. But there is no hope left when the company authorities are themselves denying any plans of the company to enter the ultra-cheap car segment.

But we have a relief. The company is still in the process of developing several low cost cars. It is expected that these low cost cars will probably be in the bottom of the B-segment for the Indian market in the coming 3-4 years.

We are not aware of what will be the fuel options available in this proposed car. The engine option of the car is also not known, the company is still in the process of deciding it. This small car is expected to join the Indian small car market in the next few years.

A lakh of Tata Nano's customers will have a reason to rejoice as they soon would be receiving 'allotment letters' from Tata Motors. Tata Nano has proved to be a complete people's car after a majority (70 percent) of the Nano bookings are from the smaller towns.

The ultra cheap car which was launched on March 23rd, received an impressive response with more than two lakh potential customers booking their Nano's before the bookings closed on April 25th 2009.

According to the computerized random selection procedure, the lucky one lakh customers will drive home their own little wonder on wheels and the rest of the lesser mortals would have to wait for some more time.

Tata Motors, during the launch of Tata Nano, had announced that the cars would initially be given to the customers “at the currently announced price”. But now it seems like the Tata Nano customers would have to shell out a little more than the actual price that Tata Motors had announced.

The first batch of Nanos' would be rolled out from the Pantnagar plant which currently holds the production capacity of 50,000 cars per annum. This number will be further expanded to 2.5 Lakh units once the new plant at Sanand in Gujarat starts its operation in December.
