Swift sedan Dzire is making a sudden appearance on Wednesday and not on Saturday as aired before. It it will be launched on Wednesday. It could give Maruti Suzuki two days of publicity and long queues of buyers booking it over the weekend. Whatever, it is a clever strategy by MSIL to make quick sales and ensure long demand over several months. Its only sedan in market now SX4 which is already on top of the charts and Dzire seem to repeat history. Many believe that though the car similar to Swift in appearance has several firsts in its features. Labels: Maruti, Maruti Swift, Maruti SX4, New Car, new car launch

Toyota has had a long successful run in India since its arrival. I am surprised that even though small cars constitute to a major percentage of the Indian auto market share, Toyota has not ventured into this segment in India. Toyota has a partnership with Daihatsu Motors, which is a leading mini car manufacturer in Japan and Toyota holds 51 percent stakes in this partnership. Toyota’s products have usually been universally accepted. Even the SUV Qualis (which I really thought was a Tin Drum) was in high demand when its production stopped at the Indian plant. Maybe India will get a taste of Japan’s favourite small cars in the near future. After all, Indian narrow roads and crowded streets will make these small cars feel perfectly at home! All speed enthusiasts take note - Ferrari is eager to hit Indian roads. This announcement was made by the PRO office of Ferrari recently. But don’t jump from your seats, this could mean another 3-5 years. It is like a dream come true to finally see a Ferrari on Indian roads. This brand has been like a jewel in a crown for Italian sports cars enthusiasts and it is time that the car was brought to India, the land of the Maharajah’s. The Ferrari’s arrival is like an action moving waiting to happen, provided the bullock carts, old trucks, and pedestrians are cleared from the highways. It is not good to associate a fine machine like the Ferrari with accidents that are only too keen to happen. Labels: Ferrari, New Car, Sports car

Car manufacturers are coming up with new ideas to attract new buyers. Now, can you imagine a car manufacturer offering free petrol as an incentive? But that is exactly what Tata Motors had announced. The company has tied up with Hindustan Petroleum to offer free fuel worth upto Rs. 20,000 to all new buyers of Tata Indica and selected models of Indigo and Fiat cars. But this offer is limited only to people living in Delhi and the surrounding region. I never thought such a day would dawn in India when petrol is offered free with every car buy. Sounds like a line from an advertisement, but it’s a fact. I wish the same scheme was extended to Lucknow too. From Tata Roadie Labels: Buy Car, car incentive, Fiat, New Car, Petrol, Tata

Everybody knows that Ambierod is inspired by Ambassador, but the similarity stops at its exterior. Did you know that it will come fitted with a menu driven LCD screen, where movies and internet can be accessed with the click of a button, and a camera is fitted instead of the usual side mirrors? The driver gets to see the rear and side view on a display monitor. Hold it, there is more! Since Ambierod is going to be chauffer driven, the rear seat comfort has been given special attention. The rear seat passenger (owner) also gets a foot stool that is fitted in place of a front passenger seat. It was the most expensive car showcased at the recent Auto Expo in Delhi. Ambierod’s designer, Dilip Chabbria, has got Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to unveil it. Hope that the Ambierod goes on to become the king of road just like the Ambassador. After all, I am still a softy for oldies! Labels: Ambassador, Improved interior features, New Car, New look

New car buyers in New Delhi are a delighted lot. Car dealers are now offering a pooja ceremony for new cars before they are rolled on to the street. Many dealers have hired priests for this. Car owners no longer have to take their new cars to crowded temples and wait for a priest to arrive. The ceremony is now completed at the showrooms as a value added service. Dealers might have struck the right promotional note with this move. Labels: New Car, Promotional campaign, value added service

Owning a car is not a style statement anymore, upgrading it to match your lifestyle is. Gen-X car buffs are making their cars sportier and flashier. The growing demand for accessories has had car component makers from across the globe make their way to the Indian market. These days there are hundreds of simple and affordable ways to give a personal touch to a car. The extent of customisation is such that every single component in a car can be replaced or be made to look the way one would like. Like a dress designer who designs dresses as per your taste, you can also design a car to your choice.
There are all kinds of accessories in the market that will support you to revamp your car from exterior to interior. The auto market offers a complete list of amazing add-ons for new looks. For instance, alloy wheels can make quite an impact to the overall look of a car; chrome- or silver-rimmed exhaust tips and spoilers can be added, a range of different headlights and fancy tail lights, and a wide array of bumpers, grilles, windshields, wipers and even body paints to choose from. You can even tattoo your car. Now that’s interesting.
And that was only the exterior. The interiors too can be altered with a choice of upholstery, steering wheels, gear knobs, beverage holders, audio systems, floor mats, etc. Apart from accessories themselves, a lot of car design shoppes have opened up. These places can do magic with your car. Little wonder then that pretty soon every car on our roads will look different from the other. As the Suzuki motor decides to source compact cars from Maruti for their global market, the latter plans to rollout A-Star by 2009. It is a really good venture for Maruti and its parent Suzuki. Now they are preparing to launch the new car, which will be the first indigenously designed, styled, and produced Indian car with Europe as the primary target. The team of engineers is burning the midnight oil in Maruti’s Manesar plant to develop this car, slated to be unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in Jan 2008. However, the production car that will be exported to Europe will be different from the one being showcased – better or worse will be decided when the model is officially rolled out. It’s a luxury-branded world we live in. Thanks to Google, I’ve got a leak on what Alfa Romeo in India will look like. Iconic, that is the perfect word suited for Alfa in India. I had never seen one of these before so I thought of googling it up more. Really wide, pretty low, and very sporty. It’s rare that we come across some great sporty cars in India. It is interesting in the fact that Alfa will bring a new face for Fiat in India. There are some nice details about Alfa Romeo. Alfa is a car that can compete head-on with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class and the Audi A4 in India. The exterior is pretty sweet. The unique grille housed between the jewel shaped headlight offers something we will have to wait for. And the news is that Alfa Romeo 159 will be the mainstay of the brand in the Indian market. Surprisingly the 159 has been Alfa’s most successful compact saloon in recent times. Alfa look forward to price it competitively against the locally-assembled Mercs and BMWs. Alfa will certainly sell up to par with a price that of BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class. However, sources say Alfa 159 should be launched with an entry price of Rs. 28 Lakh. I think sales will heavily depend on Indian road conditions and the company’s service back-up. Scheduled to be released sometime next year Ford is likely to facelift the Fiesta with a new look probably in the first quarter of 2008. Even with strong rivals such as Honda and Toyota, Ford is a rising hit in the Indian market. The Fiesta is a comfortably luxurious car that won Ford a record market in India. The Fiesta will get more and better standard features and a new exterior styling. Ford announced the Indian auto market as its first target. The global automaker gurus agree that the Indian vehicle market is the perfect place to compete. Definitely a right decision from Ford. The next Ford model to get a facelift is the Endeavour. Liked the news of coming 20 models in India for the year 2008? Maybe you’ve been following the filter of information flowing out of our portal about the coming 2009 models also. The world of automakers has booked the year 2009 as well. Let’s check the year 2010 now. We're finally starting to list out some solid information on the 2010 year models. Hooray, here’s the first one. The car majors Nissan and Renault, along with their local partner Bajaj Auto have confirmed the plan to launch a US $2500-car in India. Howz that??? We have seen Renault’s strong relationship with another local partner Mahindra. I think it’s from M&M that they learned the importance of working with local partners. Now it’s Bajaj to ride Nissan and Renault’s new car in India in 2010. The names of the cars are yet to be known. The rumor is that the talks have been going on among them on the car from early 2007. The trios dream to manufacture a $2500 (1 Lakh) car felt possible in India. But they encountered major hurdles in exporting the vehicle to markets such as Europe, China, Brazil, Mexico, and United States. As India is turning to be a die-hard play ground of global automakers for small cars, the trios decided to fully concentrate on making the car for India and making it competitive. Will catch up with you with more 2010 launches in India. Check out our Blogs and Articles section at Carazoo for auto news before it happens. While the new season of soft roaders is in full swing, Maruti quotes the launch of its new version SUV the Suzuki Escudo. Yeah, after Grand Vitara, Maruti is working on an urban cross-country vehicle. Well, that was a quick answer from Maruti to Honda’s CRV and Hyundai’s Tucson! Finally we are going to see some tough competition in the SUV market. Could the coming days be a Suzuki SUV upstart's year? Okay, let’s check out the Suzuki Escudo. As the saying goes Escudo is expected to own a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.7-litre diesel engine. The biggest news is that Suzuki Escudo will be a completely imported model. When it was showcased in the last Auto Expo, one look at the all-new Suzuki Escudo and it was clear that the Suzuki designers had started focusing their inspiration towards SUVs - the reasonably large and the more clean-cut lines of luxury. If you ask the Suzuki people they'll tell you that this is a second-generation of Suzuki soft-roaders. It is expected to have a prize tag of Rs. 12 - 15 lakh ex-showroom in India. Now Maruti Suzuki competes in the ever more crowded SUV field and the Grand Vitara will soon have a sibling in India. It’s up to you keen Maruti Suzuki enthusiasts to cruise on over to the nearest Maruti dealers for more news on the Suzuki Escudo and don’t forget our portal – coz we provide car info before anyone else! Suzuki is all-set to manufacture a hatchback called Splash. The company has already officially announced it. Though most of the concepts for Splash are imbibed from Agila, a 5-door vehicle manufactured by its partner company, the cues represent more stylishness and uniqueness. Though the complete list of standard features is not yet out, it is in the air that the stability control system will be standard. The price is yet to be revealed by the company. Its first launch is expected to be in the UK market and India will not be far behind! Labels: Car-Sales, Global market, Hatchbacks, Manufacturing new car, New Car, Suzuki

When it comes to buying a car, Maruti Baleno is always deemed as underrated four - wheeler until a few years back. In fact, none preferred to buy the car when it was launched in India due to exorbitant price. In a country like India, the automobile company can't set a high price especially when it zeroes in on the middle class Indian families. As an effect of it, the company had to reduce the price. The cut in price has increased the demand for Maruti Baleno, and sales picked up. Recently, the company launched the New Baleno LXI, and hopes to lure the large segment of the Indian consumer. Of course, Maruti is determined not to make the same mistake with the New Baleno LXi. The new Baleno LXi is priced at Rupees 5.60 lakhs. That means, the new Maruti Baleno is competitively priced - around the price of the Hyundai Verna and lesser than the top end Honda City models - hey that's good news for Maruti cars' lovers. Today, all automobile companies have kept their fingers crossed, as what the budget 2007 will have for them. There is clue from an authorized source that the government has decided to reduce 10% custom duty on all Big and imported cars. It's to be seen how Maruti Udyog reformulates its marketing plans after the budge 2007. But as a great fan of Baleno, I wish you all to have a look at the model I possess. Something in its chunky outer-looks appeal to me, I prefer it looks wise to many other modern and branded cars. The seats are the best in class - most comfortable with high class Air Condition. Average fuel consumption that I noticed for the 800km trip with more than 250kms on hilly terrain, with my three colleagues - Rajan, Rao, and Dipiti. Dipti has just bought her new grey color Baleno LXi five days back, and is happily driving. Take a look at my car I have owned. I'm sure, you'll like it.
