Hyundai has plans of launching its facelifted Verna in India. The new Verna has already has made its appearance in the Korean car market. And now the company is launching it in the country with much expectation. Guessing on what would have made Hyundai think on these lines of launching a fresh looking Verna, we can get an answer. Even though not the only reason, the launch of the revamped Maruti SX4 and Ford Fiesta could be a motivating factor behind the company’s decision of launching the facelifted Verna in India. The company launched its much loved sedan, Verna back in 2005. Since then the car has not received any major change in looks. The growing competition in the auto industry might have made the company think about bringing in the new looking Verna to India. We are not sure as to what exactly would be the changes that the car would receive. And whether it will be able to conquer the hearts of the Indian car lovers as its predecessor did. We are also not well aware of the launching date of this new Verna and what possibly would be the price that should be spend to owe one. Anyways, waiting eagerly. Yes, we were also eagerly waiting for the launch of Maruti’s Diwali gift, the new Maruti Suzuki SX4. The company had many promises about the car and that was expected to be launched yesterday, October 13, 2009. Maruti, even though is the master car manufacturer of the county, has certain limitations. And it was SX4, which belongs to the A3 premium segment, which suffered the most. The car during the initial days after the launch was able to top in sales. But the glory subsided soon and the sedan was not able to stand the competition from other major car models. The final blow was the launch of the new Honda City. And then the SX4 was not able to take it anymore. The superior designing and performance of Honda created a huge competition for Maruti and as a result the sales of SX4 came down considerably. This also gained more momentum to the view that Maruti Suzuki is good at manufacturing small cars and but luxury cars are not its cup of tea. And the new facelifted model of SX4 from Maruti is expected to erase off this view. But where is the car? There could be a reason why the company didn’t launch SX4 yesterday as reported by many news. The Indian car company might have thought in an Indian way. Yesterday was Tuesday, a day which is considered to be inauspicious by the Indian mass. The company would not want to challenge the age old belief that Tuesday is not a good day for starting any new ventures. The company, we expect would relaunch the SX4 today or tomorrow. Or is it waiting to enter the Indian car market together with Tata Manza, a mid size sedan! Labels: Honda-City, Maruti, Maruti-SX4, Tata-Manza

It seems the Maruti Suzuki is having second thoughts about its SX4. No, it is not planning to stop producing the mid-size sedan, but instead the company will be bringing out a power-packed version of the mid-size sedan. Except for those three initial months after its launch, the Maruti Suzuki SX4 has never bought the company much profit. And the company’s plan to launch a revived model of SX4 is to surely meet the growing demands of the Indian car buyers. There is a very famous notion that the Maruti car models will not satisfy the needs of a big car customer. And with the launch of the power-packed SX4, Maruti is now trying to rub off this thought from the minds of the car buyers. But the company should take special care to not make even a minor mistake this time around. Doing so, it will adversely affect the sales of the model and the remaining notion will gain more momentum. So the company should really be careful in taking a decision as the other car model it has to compete in the segment is the all powerful Honda City. And for Honda City, not only does the superior designing and elegant help them win the crowd; it is also the brand name and class that will pull in more sales for the company. And for Maruti SX4, it has once lost the race with Honda City. And if the same happens again, it could be really disastrous. Maruti SX4 is expected to be relaunch within a fortnight. And it will be powered by a new 1.6-litre engine that will have a much higher pick-up. And there will also be an additional automatic variant too. It will also meet the Bharat lV emission norms. Yes of course, there will be a hike in the pricing of the new car; it is expected to be priced higher than the current top-end Zxi variant, which comes at Rs 7.5 lakh. Maruti Suzuki SX4 and Fiat's Sedici are twins from the same platform residing in different countries. The Sedici is a sports utility vehicle designed and manufactured by the Joint Venture between Suzuki and Fiat mainly for the European market. The car was expected to launch in India as well but the success of SX4 in India has blocked the market for Sedici in the country. Sedici was expected to replace the SX4 in India. Initially, the Maruti had plans to introduce almost 60,000 units of SX4 to the country, out of which two-thirds to be sold by Suzuki and the rest by Fiat. But fortunately, SX4 has been a great hit in the mid-size sedan market. The company is also successful in attracting customers with a recent upgrade offer of Rs 25,000 exchange bonus. The Sedici is doing great in the native Italian market. Fiat was also planning to launch Sedici in South Africa but then the company changed its intention because the South African market is already dominated with the SX4. Eventually, the joint venture between the Fiat and Suzuki decided to launch the twins in different countries. Labels: Fiat-Sedici, Maruti-SX4, New-Cars
