Will Mahindra & Mahindra launch Ingenio?
Long back Mahindra & Mahindra notified that it would be rolling out the Mahindra Ingenio in 2006 and there were lots of reports and information related to it but sadly it remained as news because the car is not yet launched.
This model hails from the MUV (Multi-utility vehicle) class like the Toyota Innova, Qualis, the Tata Sumo Grande and the Chevrolet Tavera. Now we heard that the model is undergoing several tests and is expected on Indian roads very soon. But how long this launch will take is still a mystery.
The same is repeated with Toyota’s Fortuner which was supposed be launched but is still on hold. Hope the car manufacturer prepare well for the launch before announcing and later disappearing with it.

Honda Motors to launch MUV
Car companies have a huge market in India. They have successfully maintained a neat portfolio of cars for India. Most of them are urban centric and come with drivability that suits city roads. The SUV have not been liked by many Indians, but only few of them are doing well in Indian car market. Hence, the car manufacturers are manufacturing multi-utility vehicle to get hold of the market. The best known MUVs in India are the Innova and Tata Sumo Grande.
Honda, which is a leader in premium car segment, has also decided to develop a MUV under their badge. Honda is likely to bring a MUV for India. But the date is yet to be announced.

Tata to discontinue Sumo in India

Is
Tata too disappointed on
Sumo sales? How can changing the trims not result in better sales? The SUV is going to disappear in favor of new cars in the compact, sedan, and
MUV segments. Rumors had indicated
Tata will introduce a new MUV instead of Sumo soon.
Tata Sumo, one of the oldest
SUVs in India started production in 1992. Now, it is going down like the Titanic just when India is turning into an SUV hub. If anybody wants to drive a strong hard core
Tata SUV, they'll go get a
Safari. Tata quoted this as a space for them to launch a series of new exciting segments.
India, where small car is the auto market mantra, especially due to urban driving and traffic conditions, will see more small cars from Tata in coming years. Tata Motors and
Fiat India, in a joint venture, is set to introduce two new cars in India: the Grand Punto and
Fiat Linea. Also, Tata has quoted that it will launch a new multi-utility vehicle to replace Sumo. However, Sumo seems to be like an unsung hero that has been long overshadowed by the
Safari – so maybe its disappearance is for the best.
