Lamborghini goes Platinum!
The Lamborghini car is one of the most expensive cars in India and I would guess that it would face no competition in its segment, but that does not keep the Lambo from marketing its brand!

American Express has presented an opportunity for its platinum card members to win a Lamborghini Gallardo. The Italian auto manufacturer, Lamborghini is well-known for participating in such type of offers. All platinum card holders are eligible for the competition. They earn one point every time the card is swiped for expenses worth Rs 10,000 or above and win a chance to enter the draw. The card member increases his chance of winning the dream machine by making more purchases and piling his entries for the draw. The competition was launched during Christmas in 2007 and will continue till April 30, 2008.

So, all platinum card holders gear up, and swipe. It might just make you an owner of the Lamborghini Gallardo - the ultimate sports car in India!

Lotus quickly on its way to India
Wishing for more high performance Sports cars in India? Low, wide, and fast. On Indian roads buyers of high-end high performance cars are almost nil. The few numbers of Lambos and Porsches in India are owned by people who can afford to make their own personal roads to ride these dazzlers.

When Lotus, the British automakers, hinted the possibility of Lotus Elise’s launch in India, I was thinking about the possible drifts it can make in the heart of sports car enthusiasts. Lotus has the design motto "Performance through light weight". Even if you have never got behind the wheels of a Lotus, you have probably heard of it in Formula 1 races.

Now, the company is looking for a partner to set up showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi. Sport Cars from the Malaysian national carmaker Proton is also expected to debut in India with Lotus. These efforts will keep India expecting even before the first Indian Grand Prix.

Lamborgini in India pave their private roads
“Wanna jump up in my Lamborghini Gallardo” hit the streets and pubs of India with the release of the album “Smack that” by Akorn.

India witnessed the entry of the Lamborgini at the end of last year. Three of its latest international models that rolled out in India were the Sports-cum-luxury sedan Gallardo, the convertible 'Gallardo Spyder', and the 2-door coupe Murcielago.

India was most keyed up during the launch of Gallardo, one of the most luxurious international sports cars in 2006. Lamborghini, the Italian luxury sports car maker had already sold six cars in India and was expecting to finish the year with ten. And they were all set to drive in its best selling model 'Gallardo' to India within the first quarter of 2006.

However, the potential and power of the Lamborgini is wasted due to the heavy traffic issues in India. The growing crorepati car bazaar is facing a serious crisis when rolling out cars like the Lamborgini and the Ferrari on Indian streets. The proud owners of expensive imported sport cars in Mumbai are now mapping out their very own decent roads to roll in their high performance sports cars.
