Mini Coupe Concept CarMini had celebrated its 50th anniversary in a very fashionable way. The Coupe Concept was exposed. The 2009 Frankfurt show will be remembered for this reason. The automotive brand owned by the BMW Group had revealed the Coupe and Roadster concept at the auto show. The Coupe sure was a model that redefined the Mini’s design language. It will probably become Mini’s flagship model in future. Don’t you think so?

The 2-seat concept vehicle had been inspired by the classic Mini. As its name suggests, it had a coupé body and made use of the engine used in John Cooper Works vehicles. It had the very attractive chrome radiator grille from the Cooper S. The inner sections of the grille, however, were finished in the body colour. The cargo space in the coupe is quite commendable with 250 litres.

The Mini Coupe will be packed with a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged power unit carried over from the MINI John Cooper Works. The power-packed engine will deliver 211 bhp and a peak torque of 260 Nm. The beautifully carved Mini Coupe is 3,714 millimeters long and 1,683 millimeters wide. The Coupe’s stunning appearance and advanced features may prove to be a weapon against competitors. It may take some time for the final beauty to hit the roads and then we’ll know which car gets to stay on top.

The all-new car comes with an invigorated look with the windshield laid back making the car look less boxy. Great design must say. The Roadster concept that was unveiled at the same time as the Coupe at the Frankfurt Motor Show gets its power from a 1.6 Liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine, the same power plant that is used in the MINI Cooper S. The advanced mill produces a maximum output of 175 bhp and a peak torque of 240 Nm.

The Coupe and Roadster, both seem to be chasing closely to the forward momentum Mini is trying to acquire in order to spread out its market and enhance sales. The very fact that Mini is using John Cooper Works engine in its models further illustrates this point. It certainly looks Mini has been using this model to appeal to the male portion of the population.

Hopefully, both models will be reasonably priced and sales may begin next summer. When will the new car finally reach the Indian road? Let’s wait for some time. It will probably not take too long.

The smaller cars are going to occupy bigger space at the Geneva Motor Show. Did you know that?

Compact models are now the talk of the car makers’ towns. Fiat’s 500 to the 3.8 metre long, two seat-convertible the Renault Wind, are all going to steal the show. What’s the secret? Any idea? Growing urbanization, ageing population, demand from first-time buyers in emerging markets and the squeeze from carbon-cutting regulators around the world have made the smaller cars more beautiful. Emissions legislation has tightened and drivers look for greater fuel efficiency. So, the smaller cars are the ones that will stay firmly in focus.

While economic fears and waning scrapping schemes are making forecasting sales trends difficult, the government has decided to support the car makers with incentive schemes to increase sales. At the Geneva Motor show, all of them are certainly going to focus on the green cars. So, the auto show is only going to be more interesting as plenty of new models will be showcased. The small green cars are going to be very important for a possible recovery in demand. The spotlight is going to be on zero-emission technology.

Hybrids too are believed to switch from concept to reality at the Geneva auto show. Peugeot will be showcasing its diesel hybrid which will go into production in 2011. Hybrids are no longer niche, they are now mainstream.

For car makers, the small cars do not actually mean ‘beautiful’ as they are less or least profitable, so to say. Small cars are now coming in with so many luxury features and an extra list of optional features as well. The prices too seem to be going higher with the features. The Audi A1, for example, will include a navigation system with a high-resolution display and interior trim offered in a range of colours. It’s most basic version itself comes with a price tag of a luxury car.

Nissan will produce its Micra in India, Thailand, China, and Mexico and sell it in 160 countries. This again is far away from being called a cheap car. It also plans to make another sedan and compact van based on the same “V” platform. Will Nissan be able to sell 1 million cars of the three models by 2013? The company dreams of doing so. Nissan makes the current Micra at its plants in Oppama, Japan and Sunderland, north-east England. It is using the freed-up capacity to produce higher-value-added compact SUVs like the Qashqai and new Juke.

BMW was the mastermind behind creating smaller packages filled with luxury and including price tags that matched. The revamped BMW 5 series is one of the most profitable models and the company’s largest revenue contributor too. Other small cars, including Ford Motor’s Fiesta, Fiat’s 500, and Hyundai’s i10, are now offering standard and optional features ranging from state-of-the-art telematics to custom paint trim and parking assistance.

By 2016, more than half the global market will be dominated by A, B and midsized C cars. Audi’s earlier smallest car, the peculiar A2 had received very good reviews since its debut in 2000. It was only the aluminum body that made it a bit costly and Audi discontinued its production after selling over 176,000 units in five years. BMW and Daimler are trying hard to make small high-tech cars and price them competitively.

So, which car segment will win at the Geneva motor show? Will the small green cars really make it to the top? We need to wait and watch.

If the sources are to be believed, Fiat India could come out with a hybrid car in India by 2010 end or early 2011 other than the India-specific small car.

If the news comes right from the horses’ mouth, we all have every reason to believe it. Rajeev Kapoor, President and CEO of Fiat India said that the hybrid car certainly will be powered by CNG and petrol and also mentioned that Fiat India was also working on an India-specific car but he refused to give out more details. He was speaking to reporters at the ongoing Auto Expo held in New Delhi.

Fiat is very optimistic on doubling the sales of its existing models and will be introducing more variants of existing models, but denied any launches of new cars in India.

Rajeev Kapoor maintained that "Other than the variants launched today, we will not introduce any new models per se". He also mentioned that Fiat planned to sell about 46,000 units doubling last year’s 23,000 vehicles which were sold.

He was quite optimistic that Fiat’s models Grande Punto and Fiat 500 could not pick up sales last year as the models were launched in the end of 2009 but 2010 would be a successful year for them.

The company Wednesday unveiled the diesel version of Fiat 500, three variants of Grande Punto and two of the Linea model.

What would be rejoicing you the most? Reading about a car, liking it and then getting to know that it will not be launched in your car market or getting to know that it will be available in the native car market, of course it is the latter which interests you the most right? But this is not the governing factor for you to read about a new car. And now you have to read on and know more about the new Fiat Grande Punto Evo, keeping your fingers crossed and expecting it be launched in India, as you will surely love this one.

The new Fiat Grande Punto Evo, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009, has minor changes. On the exterior, it has a new front and rear bumpers, and the larger trunk space, improved seats and stylish dashboard in the interiors, the Punto Evo will be looking better this time. True to its name, the ‘Evo’ with its technology design and other features is readied to satisfy those customers, who will not settle even for the best.

The 1.3 second generation Multijet diesel and a 1.4 petrol engine with the revolutionary MultiAir technology are just two of the many Euro 5 engines available for the model. The Punto Evo with its Blue&Me-TomTom feature combines navigation, telephone and other functions into a colour touch screen.

With the second generation Multijet engine, the car will provide, by consuming less fuel, ten percent more power, fifteen percent more torque. The Punto, similar to that of Fiat Bravo and Fiat 500, is installed on a start-stop system.

With superior Italian designing and most modern safety features the Fiat Grande Punto Evo is a new era, evolutionary car.

New Fiat 500 Kapa Cars In India

Legendary and beautiful Fiat 500 was recently gifted to the world’s iconic doll Barbie on her 50th birthday. The small cute little car was created by the company’s Style Centre ‘Centro Stile’ in association with the toy giant Mattel to commemorate the occasion.

If you see the customized Fiat you would be left spellbound with the eye-catching bright pink exterior that matches the gleaming pink nail paint of the Barbie. The seats draped in silky silver laminated Alcantara fabrics symbolize the elegant apparel of the world’s most beautiful doll. When you take a deeper glance to the interior, you’ll find a host of features designed to suit the needs and tastes of the Barbie. The car packed with natural silk yarn floor mat, glove box treasured with brilliant coloured lip glosses and nail paints, and LED lit vanity mirror forms a perfect outline of Barbie’s legendary silhouette.

But don’t think it’s a toy car. The pink Fiat 500 is a timeless car that was driven around the world's fashion capital, Milan. What keeps on wandering in the mind is the fact that the two shares in common. For some, there is no force that drove Fiat to develop a customized car for the Barbie. But if you closely look at the rich heritage of both the Fiat 500 and the Barbie you’ll actually come to know the true significance that Fiat 500 play in the 50th celebration of Barbie.

Barbie is not only the most popular doll but the oldest doll that has driven the sentiments of little girls over the last 50 years. Similarly, since 50 years Fiat 500 is enticing car enthusiasts with its looks and performance. Both of them have their individualistic position and a legendary 500 gifted to the legendary Barbie reflects the glorious years that they have passed in different industries.

The cute and scintillating Fiat 500 has been around in India for a while now and is quite popular for its unique Italian design and styling cues.

A more masculine version of the peppy 500 might be out soon as Fiat is considering building an SUV over the same platform. The reason for Fiat’s move is that the 500’s biggest competitor Mini Cooper is also undergoing a similar transformation.

The original iconic concept would probably be lost in the process and the more aggressively styled SUV may even fail to win the hearts of car buyers. From what is known, the engine on the new SUV will not be brand new and will be an upgraded version of any of the existing engines on Fiat cars.

Technology and innovations are moving faster than ever. With so many technologies creeping in, speech technology is soon going to stamp upon the car market.

Soon we’ll have cars that can be commanded through speech. The introduction is aimed at producing a safer, easier, and more comfortable drive.

This innovative technology has already made its venture in the international market and is now set to foray into the Indian car market. It would be used for navigation aids or mobile telephony purpose.

Ready to enter with a US based company, Nuance, the speech technology will revolutionize automotive engineering in India. The system will recognize speech of the car driver and deliver the required specifications. It’s just incredible to know that cars will work on voice command.

The latest version of Fiat 500 is already equipped with the impressive and functional speech technology.

Fiat India is one of the oldest car manufacturers in India. The company made its first debut in the country with its old warehouse, Fiat Padmini. With the advent of innovative and high-end cars, the Padmini was phased out from the Indian car industry. Thereafter, the industry lost the footprints of the company.

Though the Padmini was chucked out, Fiat never lost its desire to enter the promising car industry. With this burning desire, Fiat re-entered India with Fiat Uno. This car was not a big hit in the industry. Fiat then decided to launch a more car with better performance and improved drivability. With this came Fiat Palio, one of the most successful running cars on Indian roads.

After Palio, Fiat entered the Indian market with its iconic brand, Fiat 500. This new car is considered to be a little mouse on the Indian roads. A two-door car is currently winning accolades across the country.

Fiat is now feeling strong, powerful and delighted on the back of 500’s success. Now, following the success of 500, the Italian car manufacturer, is planning to bring Fiat Dino, a two-seater roadster.

It’s still a speculation but today or tomorrow, Fiat is definitely going to bring all its successful cars to India. The launch of Fiat Linea and Grand Punto is also in the waiting list.

Will Fiat regain the lost foothold after launching successful cars in the Indian market?

Open the doors and peep into Fiat 500. Trust, you’ll be amazed!

Ardently designed Fiat 500 is an iconic brand of the Italian design produced by Fiat. This new car took complete 50 years to make its debut in the Indian market with a fun, sporty, refined, vintage and attractive look. The time span was much enough for Fiat Style Centre to introduce a small legendry with innumerable possible combinations.

The cute compact with soft rounded styling is now here. It’s time for you to peep in and bask in the luxurious and comfortable interiors. The first impression when you enter the car is like meeting few old friends wrapped with modern styling in a grand trendy party.

The interiors are just glamorous and dynamic, delivering a sense of joy, pride and love to the car owner. The center of attraction is the stylish and neat instrumentation behind the multi-functional steering wheel. Various dials, controls and buttons are arranged in concentric circles around the bright and cheerful central information panel. Under the panel echoes the climate control functions. Everything in the dash is organized in a circular form that symbolizes completeness of the car.

Now, turn your face and gaze the car seats. Luxury and beautiful leather upholstery are there in two attractive tone shades, making the seats and ambience more appealing and comfortable, just enough to brighten any journey.

Even though the price of this coupe is high, outstanding colours, trims, features, and accessories make Fiat’s iconic car a great success in the Indian car market.

So, how was the joy of meeting your old friends in a party like you were never invited before?
