Birthday Wishes for General Motors
On its 100th birthday, GM is happy to look back and rejoice the milestone the company has created in the past one century. The company was founded on September 16, 1908 by William C. (Billy) Durant, General Motors. Since then, the company has launched nearly over 450 million cars and trucks in the global auto market. All these vehicles are sold globally under different brand names - Chevrolet, Buick, GM Daewoo, Cadillac, GMC, Holden, Opel, Pontiac, HUMMER, Saab, Vauxhall Saturn, and Wuling. With so many brands coupled with manufacturing operations in about 33 countries, the company today is believed to be the one of the world’s largest auto manufacturer. In India, the company has its manufacturing plants in Halol, Gujarat and Talegaon from where GM has rolled out a slew of launches like Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Captiva for the Indian market. Apart from celebrating its birthday anniversary, GM also has another reason to rejoice. That’s the 5 successful years of Chevrolet brand in India. Vision GM
General Motors, a leading car manufacturer, made its venture into India with its successful Chevrolet Tavera in 2003. Since the time of its first launch, the company has created many milestones in the country and is having an optimistic and exciting vision ahead. The Tavera MUV has been a great success in the Indian cab market. After that the launch of Aveo has also been on a steady growth scale. The next launch of Chevrolet Spark is rolling swirling around people’s mind and heart and has attracted a large volume of car buyers. GM with its bright past rolls ahead with expansion plans by increasing the number of car launches, number of service stations and number of showrooms in the country. The company has listed many promises under “Chevrolet Promises”. GM’s vision is to have an Innova like MUV, LPG versions of Aveo and Spark, and a small cheap car for the Indian car market.
