It has been always a case of hard nut to crack when it came to designing a car exclusively for the use of the law enforcement agencies. Customizing a car to meet the needs of the police has been always challenging especially when converting a passenger car to a police car, but the new initiative of a Police car by Carbon Motors Corporation, a new homeland security company, says that not only are the police worried about an exclusive car for them, but there are people around who thinks well for them.

The police car market has nothing attractive to offer and that could be the reason why most of the automakers conveniently neglected it, but the necessity is far beyond to be avoided.

This car “To protect and to serve” has sophisticated and most modern features that are awe inspiring. Carbon E7 is the world’s first purpose built law enforcement patrol car and will be a true companion of the police. Designed exclusively to meet the needs of a police, the cars has features that one would have seen in action and adventure series and would never have imagined come live, but only in the distant future.

The car is powered by a 3.0-litre, 300bhp diesel engine and a few among the amusing list of the features of the police car are automatic license plate recognition system, night vision cameras, backseat audio and video surveillance, air ducts equipped to detect radiation, voice activation for onboard system.

The Carbon E7 is self sufficient with all the facilities a convict or accused would wish to not have in a police car. This car will in no way stop a person from committing a crime but not give him room to escape! It is not a wonder car, but it will surely help police perform wonders.

The brainchild of Ratan Tata ‘Nano’ that has created a benchmark in the history of global car market due to its super-thrifty engineering and distinctive concept is now set to come in European version.

The European Nano will go public for the first time at the ongoing Geneva Auto Show. But will the European Nano be same as the Indian Nano? No we don’t think so. European market has comparatively higher norms when it comes to safety and emissions. And so the European Nano will also be technologically superior with better compliance to emission norms. The car is likely to have certain significant modifications and a comprehensive design change to meet the European standards and conditions. Some of the standard features in the European Nano are car audio system, a left-side wing mirror, air conditioner, and alloy wheels.

The introduction of these features along with mandatory safety features will definitely increase the speculated price of the European version. And further to that the shipping cost of the car from Indian facility will add to the cost.

Couple of years ago it was hard to digest the incredulous reality of the Nano. But then the fact that good things come in small packages hold true with the Nano.

So, now when the Nano is all set to roll out on Indian roads, Tata is making hard attempts to introduce the car in European markets. Nano can prove to be a wakeup call for Europeans as many think that this world’s cheapest car symbolizes purity of mobility.

Fuel-less and battery-less auto engines are the actual requirements of the present time when the world is struggling with the issue of energy shortage. Practically, it’s difficult to believe or imagine of an engine which is neither powered by fuel nor a battery.

But surprisingly, a fuel-less environment friendly auto engine has been developed by a couple who chose to do something new and unique. As the name suggests, no fuel is to be used in the engine. But is it the same as electric engines or air cars? No.

The new engine is powered by the energy generated by a chemical reaction between zinc and oxygen that emits no harmful pollutants. This new engine also has better durability. Amazingly, a car powered by this eco-friendly engine can run up to 450,000 km. No one had ever thought that this simple reaction will be able to power an automobile. But, Kanishk and Lipika proved their mettle.

The highly ambitious couple, Kanishk Sinha and his wife Lipika invented and patented the engine with BigPatents India, a body supported by the Ford Foundation. They established the company and registered in the US with the aid of Rs 100 Crore funded by non-resident Indians. After the establishment of their company, they both wore a green conscience and decided to bring the environment-friendly car engine to the global car market.

With high degree of zeal, vivacity, and determination the couple has successfully launched a fuel-less environment-friendly engine that can be fitted in a variety of vehicles including cars. The fact that it can also be used in water pumps adds to their joy of accomplishment.

It's incredible that cars would now be made of coconut. Researchers at Baylor University have introduced a innovative way to transform coconut husk into automotive interiors.

Researchers believe that the coconut husk can be used to design the trunk liners, floor boards, and car door interior covers replacing the synthetic polyester fibres.

Most of the people will wonder that why only coconuts were selected among a long list of plants grown across the world. But the leading researcher, Walter Bradley, has the answer.

He says that coconuts has been picked up from the long list because it is grown in abundance. And about 96% of the total coconut production is taken over by poor farmers who don't even manage to earn their basic living requirements with this plantation. The idea to utilize coconut fire to build automotive interiors will create a viable new market for these poor farmers along with making the cars more environment friendly.

In addition, coconuts having better mechanical properties not only preserves natural resources but are also cost effective and comparatively reduces a car weight. Adding to the green concept, coconut do not emit toxic fumes and are thus light on environment.

Though this concept is new for the Indian car industry, in the global car market Mercedes-Benz is know to be the first to use natural fibre in cars. The exterior of Mercedes-Benz A-Class Coupé is manufactured using the abaca banana plant replacing the traditional glass fibre.

As everyone is awaiting the launch of world’s cheapest car, the Tata Nano, various facts are being revealed about the car.

When the car was first unveiled at the January 2008 Auto Expo, Ratan Tata promised to deliver the car at the price tag of Rs 1 Lakh, so that it could fit in the pockets and aspirations of common people. Unfortunately, as the year proceeded, inflation and soaring prices of raw materials hit the car market which obviously increased the cost of production. Still, the Chairman of Tata Motors lives up to the commitment.

But now, as the launch is being delayed, it’s difficult to say whether Tata will be able to maintain the same price tag. Some commentators even have a say that the car is not priced low, it’s priced correctly.

They feel that the age of high priced cars is on the verge of extinction except the high-end luxury cars. The Nano will also reflect a true picture of a car that is well-designed with perfection if logistics and operations are efficient and progressive.

With the price tag Nano offers, a new revolution is about to happen, a revolution that will place Tata Motors (an Indian name) on the global automotive map. Expectations from the Nano are sky high and Tata is on heels to fulfill them.

Buy one car and get the other at $1! That’s a really a cool offer and once in a lifetime opportunity.

One Chicago based car dealer has announced an exciting offer for car enthusiasts in U.S. You’ll roll over with thrill to know that you can buy a '08 PT Cruiser for $1 with the purchase of $40,000 luxury SUV, 2008 Chrysler Pacifica. Apparently, many of you would run to grab this offer. It’s not worth missing it. But sadly, the offer is only valid in U.S.

The reason is none other than the slowdown in car market. The company is definitely losing revenue and profit as it is also investing a huge amount for promotional and branding activities. But, the lost is acceptable if they manage to cope up with the falling economy.

Both the cars are great in terms of style, mileage, and performance. Just imagine if any such offer to travel to India. Obviously, not talking about the special scheme on Pacifica and Cruiser in India. But, how about an offer of buying Mercedes-Benz E-Class and getting a Maruti Suzuki Swift at Rs 1 Lakh. Sounds interesting!

Just hold on your imaginations, as this kind of offer is very rare, and it is quite difficult to say if any such offer will ever make its debut to India.

The caption ‘buy a home to get a car’ sounds so simple. But is it that simple.

Along with the car market, the entire economy is dwindling with high inflation and financial crisis.

The middle class section of the society has headed towards a tough, challenging, and strange crossroads, a point where they have to cut down their basic necessity of life. Buying a home has become a challenge and even buying a car. Both are a necessity today.

But, interestingly, today real estate owners are offering special schemes and discounts to lure customers. They are not able to reduce or cut down the actual cost because of increasing inflation but they are definitely offering incentives in terms of interiors and even cars.

Yes, some of the real estate owners are offering cars to all their customers on booking a flat. This means, to buy a car of worth Rs 5 lakh or even Rs 10 lakh, you have to buy a house worth Rs 25 or 40 lakh.

Car manufacturers are simply trying to club promotional activities to push car sales. But is this the right strategy for advertising or branding?

When the car market is suffering from intense liquidity crunch, used car business is leading the game.

The severe financial meltdown has proved to be a blessing in disguise for pre-owned and used car business. Car financers are moving away from giving car loans, which is pulling car buyers towards second hand cars.

Today, you can get a number of used cars at attractive prices and people are taking advantage of these offers. Successful car models like the Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki Alto, and Maruti Suzuki WagonR are gradually becoming the hottest pick up from the used car market. This is not only because of the low-cost availability of these cars but also for being the most reliable cars.

You would be amazed to know though one or two years old, these car models deliver good performance and fuel efficiency if maintained well. So, if you are one among those who is shattered with financial downturn and is moving towards buying a used car, make sure that you choose a reliable seller or a car dealer.

But still, the BMW is confident that in the long run, India will have a better and brighter market with higher business potential. The unstable growth speed does not affect the desire and ambition of the company because the company has successful entrepreneurs and corporate executives as their prestigious customers. These customers are already aware of the commercial risks in every business.

The BMW also wishes to strengthen its existing car portfolio in the country. After the launch of 3, 5, 6 and 7 series, the company is now eager to launch BMW 1 series along with the introduction of the car ‘Mini’.

With changing demands and requirements, the company is also wish to mould the base of its existence in the country and develop innovative technologies to fulfill the expectations of Indian customer.
