Hyundai Aggregate Sales Up

Hyundai Motors India Ltd.(HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, has reported a 16.6 percent hike in aggregate sales last month (55,670 units)as compared to the corresponding month last year which was 47,762 units.
The domestic sales of the company depicts a 2.8 percent jump, the number of units sold were 32,010 last month whereas the number of units sold in the month of May, 2011 were 31,123. Exports of the company have also gone up by 42.2 percent. The number of units exported last month was 23,660 whereas 16,639 units were exported in the month of May 2012.

Mr Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “The recent hike in petrol prices has depressed market sentiment, with the macro-economic indicators providing no cause for cheer, the demand outlook doesn’t look very bright.”

Last month the company has sold 48,250 units in the A2 segment which comprises of Eon, Santro, i10 and i20 whereas 7,306 units were sold in the A3 segment which includes Accent and Verna. In the A5 segment, which comprises of Sonata, 43 units were sold and in the SUV section 71 units of Sante Fe were sold.
