Maruti Suzuki India recently launched the special edition Ritz Genus, and now it has launched a special edition of its iconic premium small car Swift. In the month of March 2010, Maruti Suzuki achieved an astounding feat of selling 1 million cars a year. The one millionth car that rolled out of the company’s state-of-the-art plant at Manesar was a Swift. And that’s the reason MSI has decided to commemorate this by bringing in a limited edition of the Swift Model.
The most exclusive thing about the “Swift One Million Edition” is the specially created “Goldsmith Black” colour, which seems pretty promising. The limited edition Swift will sport smart and attractive features like splendid graphics, special integrated stereo with USB and speakers, luxurious leather seats, cushions, foot-mats and an artistic decal on the exteriors.
The Swift One Million Edition is available in Vi version (Petrol) at a price of Rs. 483,079 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company is making just about 1,000 units of this celebration model. With the addition of those features, the special edition Swift seems worth every penny that you spend on it.
Speaking during the launch of the car, Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) said, “It is indeed a moment of pride for us. Swift One Million Edition is our gesture to show gratitude to our customers who have strongly supported us in our journey to reach milestone of one million sales in one year.”
Highlighting the product Mr. Pareek added, “The interiors of the Swift One Million Edition have aesthetics of a commemorative edition. The new features and the characteristic body graphics together compliment the sporty character of the Swift. We are confident that this special edition will bring pride to the select owners who get to possess it”.
Way back when Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in 2005, it started the premium A2 car segment in the country. The Swift also happened to be Suzuki’s first world strategic model and brought in a new design philosophy which was aggressive, bold and sporty. A group 25 Indian engineers, along with their counterparts at Suzuki, were at their best when they designed and developed this global model.
Since its launch, Swift has set benchmarks that other hatchbacks in the segment could only dream about. So far, the company has sold more than 4.90 lakh units of the Swift in India. Swift also boasts of achieving the fastest 2 lakh sales in 35 months and fastest 3 lakh sales in 46 months.
The Maruti SuzukiSwift has won numerous awards and recognitions both at the national and international levels. For its good looks and superior safety features, Swift won ‘Car of the Year’ in as many as 11 countries, including India.
