Fiat Style Centre’s chic creation will soon be here. Yes folks, reports suggest that we will have the much-awaited Fiat Linea T-Jet making a royal entry next month. The car maker had earlier displayed the T-Jet at this year’s Delhi Auto Expo. Performance, style and technology comes strapped with the car and who can resist the bait?

After banking on the success of the Grande Punto and Linea, Fiat seems to be quite confident about the new model too. The reason being, the T-Jet comes power-packed with a 1.4 L T-Jet engine crafted to deliver peak power of 110 bhp at 5000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm at 2500 rpm. So, that certainly means a lot of speed. Secondly, the T-Jet comes with a slush box designed to offer 10 per cent better mileage than traditional gear boxes. The steering wheel alignment is simply perfect with brilliant maneuvering of the gearshift.

The T-Jet does not take the back for styling either. It has been styled at the Fiat Style Centre. The sedan is graceful with enchanting smooth lines and it acquires a stance that makes it truly Italian. Thanks to the T-Jet’s aggressive front grille, drop-shaped headlights and forward sloping windscreen, the car carries a healthy and vigorous look too.

Coming to the interiors of the new car, they make peace with the external lines. Roominess and cushiness in the interiors of the relatively economic machine makes the T-Jet an exotic car in the real world. Every detail has been finished right. Driving experience is made particularly enjoyable with perfect positioning of pedals, armrest and footrest. The instrument panel and other controls too have been positioned right so as to offer the driver perfect visibility with ease.

The Fiat Linea T-Jet is apparently the first car in the country to carry a turbo-charged version of the naturally aspirated 1.4 l petrol engine. Sprinting from a standstill to a hundred kilometres per hour is no big task for the T-Jet which attains the same in just 9.2 seconds. The car can reach an impressive top speed of around 200 kmph.

With almost everything said, wondering if the Linea T-Jet is a safe package? The car comes equipped with an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, power lock doors and reverse parking sensors that ensure safety. Rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps are intelligent additions too. The Fire Protection System in the car stops fuel supply to the engine during critical situations. Another notable safety specification includes the ‘Hill Holder’ function wherein the car would automatically stop to prevent it from rolling backwards.

The Fiat Linea T-Jet is on the whole believed to be an exceptional piece with the ideal combination of facility, style and performance. It is a powerhouse of performance and may be worth the Rs. 9,00,000 tag which it is believed to carry.
