But, beware! It is going to be such an express ride that you would have to wear protective eye wear to save your eyes from blinding speed.

The roller coaster is the fastest Ferrari ever made, faster than the much loved Bugatti Veyron. It has been christened Formula Rossa. It can overtake even Ferrari’s F1 car. Do you believe that? The park features two roller coasters. Formula Rossa celebrates speed, aerodynamics and technical innovation. One of the roller coasters is based on the Ferrari F430 and the newest, meanest and the best ever is the Formula Corsa based on F1 cars.

The Ferrari journey at the theme park begins with a temperature controlled pre-ride wait. After that, the figures are inconceivable, unthinkable. The Formula Rossa flaunts power of 20,800 bhp, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2 seconds flat, can climb a height of 52 m into the sky in less than 5 seconds, and travels a total length of 2.07 km. It is going to be a track full of spiky 70-degree turns and unexpected drops. Just imagine touching the sky at 52 m and getting thrown suddenly, down to 1.5 m above ground level.

Well, don’t get scared. 16 passengers can sit in it at a time when the coaster tops 240 km/h. There are four car trains and 4 riders can sit in each of the cars. The Formula Rossa was manufactured by Intamin and designed Jack Rouse Associates. According to the designers, the key challenge in building the world’s fastest roller coaster was obtaining the desired speed without compromising passenger safety and comfort. The 135-acre park will open later this year in the Persian Gulf with more than 20 attractions. Ferrari World is still under construction on the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The World’s first theme park designed around an automobile manufacturer will possibly feature a racetrack, theater complex, assorted driving activities, and thrill rides. The thrill rides are expected to provide the same thrills and acceleration that F1 cars do. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a world-class development by Aldar Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi’s leading property development, management and Investment Company and will be managed by Farah Leisure Parks Management LLC, a joint venture between Aldar Properties PJSC and ProFun Management Group Inc., an international leisure facilities management and operating company. It will be the world’s largest indoor and first Ferrari theme park.

Due to open in 2010, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is set to be one of the signature features of Yas Island, a 2,500 hectare island dedicated to leisure, entertainment and lifestyle.
