The growing American interest for Indian and Chinese car was a very interesting piece of news. The already proud Indian will be super proud to know about the rocketing Indian car market. And it is also true that this is the right time to venture into the American car market, but it is of course not a now or never situation and we will again get chance to prove ourselves, but it is just a matter of time before we do that.
It seemed like a new era of acceptance of the Indian cars. This was the news that was celebrated by the Indian news media. It seemed to be a challenging journey, but it certainly seemed like a fruitful one. Until yesterday when browsing through some questions asked by Americans, it suddenly seemed to be a very distant dream, the dream to win over the hearts of the American car buyers.
Among the questions asked there were these most troubling ones – What is Tata? Is there a company called Tata? Mmmh! Well, the quick response was to answer all of them with a big yes. And the thoughts followed how it is possible that they don’t even know about the name of the biggest Indian conglomerate with different business interests under its wings.
To comfort oneself, there is this answer – There are at least questions asked about Tata these days, there was a time when they did even know the name to ask such a question.

The Americans have been skeptical about Indians cars all the time. But they have changed their mind now. A couple of weeks back, the Mahindra Scorpio proved the world that the Indians can make excellent SUVs. The Tata Nano too proved that having with a humble price tag does not mean that it is not strong enough.
