No other custom built classically designed vehicle in the world can match its extreme engineering and strength in one car.

The British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin is pleasantly surprised by the interest shown by Rizk Automobiles. Aston Martin cars have featured frequently in the James Bond spy movies. The new model of the 1957 model will drive back the interest in Aston Martin cars again.

Maini Reva to Produce More Electric Cars

India’s leading New Maini Reva car in Indiaelectric car manufacturer, Maini Reva Electric Car Company is all geared up to build the world’s largest manufacturing unit for cheap all-electric cars. The new plant is likely to be over five times the size of its existing factory in Bangalore. The new facility, which is expected to be operational in 2011, will have capacity of around 30,000 units.

The Indian electric car company will help to introduce green energy to the subcontinent’s rapidly growing car industry. Electric cars are lately in vogue as a result of the global climate change concerns and environmental awareness.

According to a research finding, by 2015 around 15% of the total car sales in India would be of electric cars. The concept of electric cars was not given much importance in the past but; now it is a concept that is fast gaining popularity among countries and communities. Today almost all major car makers of the world are working on some kind of an alternate fuel technology or Electric Vehicle (EV).

The first Indian electric car Reva is a small hatchback powered by eight six-volt batteries. It was designed to beat pollution of the cities and to conserve fossil fuel which is depleting day by day. The Reva features a 2+2 seat configuration. The lead acid battery version can travel up to 80 km on a single charge, while a lithium-ion powered cell raises the range by 50% to 120 km.

The Reva was introduced in India in 2001 and it has received certification from Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and EEC (European Economic Community), which has led to the export of Reva’s to UK as the G-Wiz.

Reva Electric Car Company is planning to introduce a four-seater sedan by the end of this year.

Maruti Suzuki Launches CNG Alto

Maruti Suzuki has got down seriously into the CNG strategy. It has in its portfolio, LPG models in M800 duo and WagonR duo. But now it has just launched the cleaner CNG version of Maruti Suzuki Alto. The CNG verison of Alto is currently available only in Delhi NCR region. It is with a purpose that Maruti Suzuki has introduced the CNG fuel version for Alto, before any other models. Alto has been the top selling model for several years. It has crossed the 10 lakh mark last year, making it the most visible car on road in India. It has one of the great fuel efficiency ratings too. A CNG version will only increase its appeal with the car buyers in India.

CNG kit in Maruti Suzuki Alto includes a 12 kg CNG tank that can hold up to 7.5 kg of CNG. It comes with a Lamda distributor and advancer that enhance gas flow and improves pickup. Maruti Suzuki has clarified that the kits will be fitted only on brand new Alto cars, before delivery to customers. The CNG Alto will be priced more than regular Alto. The CNG kit will come with a 2 year warranty as well.

Michael Jackson’s Collection of Cars

The King of Pop, a legend in himself, Michael Jackson is famous for his flamboyant fashion sense in every which ways. His car collection also matched his style.

From ultra luxurious cars, buses, cult vehicles, SUVs, Motors cycles, you name it and he had it all. Now that many of the vehicles he possessed is likely to under the hammer soon to settle his debts, here are some sample of the vehicles that filled his garage at his abode Neverland.

Michael Jackson owned at least four limousines, including a 1999 Rolls Royce Silver Seraph adorned with 24 carat gold interior that was designed by Jackson himself. This Rolls Royce limousine was fitted with a 322bhp 5.4-litre V12 engine made from aluminum alloy and was expected to sell for £100,000.

He also owned a 1990 Rolls Royce Silver Spur II, trimmed in contrasting white leather and black fabric. His white 1988 Lincoln Town Car had a much more subdued interior that used gray leather and fabric. The fourth limo is the 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood that was used in the Oscar winner ‘Driving Miss Daisy’. It was expected to fetch more than £20,000.

Apart from luxury cars, he also owned a 1997 500bhp ‘Neoplan’ tour bus that includes leather sofas and recliners, granite surfaces, a full-sized shower stall, kitchen, intercom system and an upgraded audio-video system including a large, flat-panel television.

Michael Jackson’s fleet of cars also include a 1993 Ford Econoline van complete with superior leather seats, individual television screens, and an old-school video game console; a 1986 GMC High Sierra fire truck and a replica of a 1909 Detamble Model B Roadster.

He also owned blacked-out full-size 1988, GMC Jimmy, The collection also counts an electrified horse-drawn carriage and a 2001 Harley Davidson touring police bike, outfitted in police livery complete with lights, and a fuel injected twin 2-cylinder engine.

Mahindra Bolero MaxiTruck Launched in Pune

Mahindra and Mahindra is in full swing to toughen its position in the competitive Indian car market. The car manufacturer is always seen with some new launches or strategies for its customers. This time the muscular car brand is in news for introducing pick-up version of the well accepted model Bolero from the SUV segment.

Initially the new Bolero pick-up is launched only in Pune but very soon this new model will make its occurrence across the country pretty soon.

This butch pick-up truck is christened as Bolero MaxiTruck; it will be a replacement of the MaXX MaxiTruck which is currently seen in the market. The old model will be phased out in a month as soon as the Bolero MaxiTruck hits the sales charts. The new version will be seen with the price tag of Rs 3.52 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).

Bolero MaxiTruck is powered by a 61 bhp 2.5-litre engine with micro hybrid technology which results in higher fuel efficiency. Produced at the Kandivli plant, the model comes with the capacity of 1-tonne payload. Besides this the Mahindra and Mahindra is also planning to introduce the CNG version of the same model.

After Pune, the next designation for the Bolero MaxiTruck includes Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal. The new model will be available across the country in 350 sales outlets.

A lot of things seem to be happening at the India owned Jaguar super luxury brand of cars in Britain these days. At one time, Jaguar is on a high over the launch of the new flagship model Jaguar Sedan XJ. The stunningly beautiful new Jaguar XJ has been well received by the critics and the public. Orders have started pouring in from the day one of its launch earlier this month.

Jaguar cars have also entered India. The Jaguar XF and the XKR coupe and convertible have created a new sensation in the creamy layer of Indian buyers.

On the other hand Tata Motors has decided to close down the production of one of the most successful small sedan the, X-type. Why in the name of God would they want to do this? Some are of the opinion this was done to protect new Jaguar portfolio having big names like XF and XK and XJ.

The truth of the matter is that since Jaguar is at its lowest ebb due to global downturn, it was necessary to stop production of one of its models. Also the Jaguar Company intends to shut down their facilities for three weeks due to drop in demand. It also plans to cut down on 2,200 jobs to raise revenues.

To protect Jaguar from drifting away into a waterhole, Tata Motors needs to take some decisive action to change the current course of events. It is needed that Jaguar cars gain higher visibility and greater marketability like Mercedes-Benz and BMW cars. They are well known in all corners of the world and are admired for their technological superiority.

Jaguar cars are big on technology and looks. However, the brand needs to shed its conservative attitude of selling on either sides of the Atlantic. Jaguar has to go to places they have never been before to become a viable business for its masters.

The mascot which is called Mr. WizeR will represent the model in India. The WizeR will emphasize the value like smartness and leadership – which embodies WagonR. The company also plans to have a cartoon character based on Wagon R.

The company plans to use the cartoon character, Mr. WizeR, in several places including display in TV, internet and print media. This will help give WagonR more visibility in the small car segment which is currently crowded with numerous brands. We think it is a perfect timing to bring back Maruti WagonR to the limelight.

Wagon R, a small car, is currently available in four petrol and two LPG variants. All the petrol variants receive a 1.1litre 4cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 64 bhp. Surprising for a car of this value, it has an option for 3-speed automatic transmission, while the 5-speed manual transmission comes standard. Wagon R was among the first cars in India to offer reclining and sliding front seats.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is a sporty car perfect for the urban small family. The popularity of the Maruti model is so high that even now it sells 11,000 units monthly. The mascot would help revive the brand visibility among car buyers.
