Maruti Suzuki Launches CNG Alto

Maruti Suzuki has got down seriously into the CNG strategy. It has in its portfolio, LPG models in M800 duo and WagonR duo. But now it has just launched the cleaner CNG version of Maruti Suzuki Alto. The CNG verison of Alto is currently available only in Delhi NCR region. It will be made available to other regions in the country as the number of CNG distribution outlets in India increase.New Maruti Suzuki Alto Cars in India

It is with a purpose that Maruti Suzuki has introduced the CNG fuel version for Alto, before any other models. Alto has been the top selling model for several years. It has crossed the 10 lakh mark last year, making it the most visible car on road in India. It has one of the great fuel efficiency ratings too. A CNG version will only increase its appeal with the car buyers in India.

CNG kit in Maruti Suzuki Alto includes a 12 kg CNG tank that can hold up to 7.5 kg of CNG. It comes with a Lamda distributor and advancer that enhance gas flow and improves pickup. Maruti Suzuki has clarified that the kits will be fitted only on brand new Alto cars, before delivery to customers. The CNG Alto will be priced more than regular Alto. The CNG kit will come with a 2 year warranty as well.

  2. The CNG Alto will further boost up the sale of the Maruti Alto. Last month, we have seen the launch of the Chevy Spark LPG version. This is indeed a wise move towards the global energy crisis. Maruti should introduce The Swift and the Zen in CNG too.
