Car colours are not just a style statement anymore. The colour of a car is as important as the other features of the car. It is the colour of the car which reflects the personality of the car owner.
To emphasise this point, we had to throw in a few examples here to this blog. It would be ideal for us to settle down for examples of idols that the Indian revere. Sharukh “King”Khan drives a bright red Pajero, while the lovely Juhi Chawla loves her grey-coloured Range Rover. Sanjay Dutt’s favourite colour is black and that shows in the fleet of cars he owns. Big B roams in a white Range Rover while his bahu, silver Mercedes Benz. Hrithik Roshan flaunts his golden beige Merc.
Cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh jaunts in a blue BMW while Dhoni owns a metallic grey Hummer.
A prominent colour like red connotes danger. So, people who drive a red car are considered to be hyperactive and fast in everything, be it driving, speaking or thinking – dangerous, in other words. Moreover, those who ride black and dark blue cars are considered to be aggressive and black cars are presumed to be more accident-prone.
It is said that car insurance companies ask for greater premium from car owners who own shocking red, shining black and dark blue cars. They believe that cars of these colours are more susceptible to accidents during night and hence have a higher claim rate. Some insurance companies have even started charging more for metallic colours.
Compare yourself with the paint on your car. Green car owners are mean and tend to be hysteric. Those who own blue vehicle bears calm and composed mind but the ones with flashy blue have a fearless mind. Silver symbolises style and endurance, while white a peaceful mind. A golden car reveals its owner’s sophistication and confidence. A red colour car owner is full of zest and energy. That’s why the Gen X goes for a reckless red!

Wow! that was the most informative piece on Indian car colours. if some colors are accident proce why don't car manufacturer stop them? They have a moral responsibility for passenger safety. Normally car buyers buy cars with their favourite colours. Indian car buyers choosing red or balk will be unwittingly paying more car insurance than others, which is unfair on the part of the insurance company. Ignorance is not bliss in this case. Hence all automobile showrooms should prominently display a chart showing insurance premiums that each colour will attract. Maybe then some people will go for the classic white than the flashy bright colours.
I do not believe in the colour funda. How can one judge a person based on the the car he or she drives. There are criminals and politicians who use white colour car but that does not mean that they all love peace. Majority of the people opt for the black colour car because it is one of the coolest party colours.Red is the colour of love and it is really weird to think that angry persons go for this colour.
I never knew that car colours reflect the personality of its owners. Youngsters opt for red colour vehicles and the young generation is always dynamic.
I feel that a small cars like Maruti 800, Alto, Zen, Indica, Spark can stand out only in dark colours.
The Insurance Company should think twice before asking for more premium from dark colour car owners.
We have seen light colour cars involving in accidents as well.
That is very strange, I would never have quessed that insurance companies would look a the the color of your car??? Weird!
