June seems to be a month dedicated to new car launches. There is a long queue of new cars awaiting launch this month. One model joining this launch line-up is the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Diesel which is speculated to launch on 9th of June.
The diesel version of Prado will sport a 4.5-litre V8 engine which delivers 282 bhp. The four wheel drive SUV comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Compared to the petrol version of the Prado, the diesel one is expected to show better performance and fuel economy. In terms of interior and exterior design, the Land Cruiser Prado Diesel will not differ much from the already available petrol model.
For the Indian market, just like its petrol sibling, the Prado diesel too will be imported as a CBU from Japan with an expensive price tag ranging between Rs. 45,00,000 and Rs. 48,00,000. It will come in to compete with the Audi Q5 (to be launched on 5th June) which shares a similar price tag. Other competitors of the Land Cruiser Prado are Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, and Volkswagen Touareg.
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is the epitome of muscular SUV. Buyers are now glad that it is available in diesel technology. With this engine Land Cruiser is the coolest SUV in India now.
