Maruti Suzuki’s car exports are already basking under the glory of having driven to Europe and are now aiming towards other global car markets. The focus is currently on African and Latin American markets for its star product the Maruti Suzuki A-Star. The A-star is sold as the Alto in Europe and has been very popular there.
The A-Star was primarily created by Maruti Suzuki as an export product and the company has received encouraging response to the car in overseas markets. Indian car exports amounted to nearly 16,000 units of the A-star alone in the months of April and May. The company plans to ship 70,000 units of A-star to Europe in this fiscal year.
The new car model from Maruti Suzuki is already exported from India to European countries like France, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Germany. It is powered by the new K-series engine which meets the next generation emission norms as well.
The small car is exclusively manufactured in India for Suzuki’s markets worldwide. Maruti will now sell it in over 50 of Suzuki’s markets where it has sales and distribution networks. This means that Suzuki has begun transferring its small car manufacturing responsibilities to Maruti while it concentrates on its other products. Between the two companies, the small car market in the world could literally become their forte and Maruti Suzuki’s future looks extremely bright.
