Kizashi is India bound. Kizashi? Who Kizashi? What Kizashi? You might ask. ‘Kizashi’ though sounds much of a tongue twister; it is the name of the car Maruti Suzuki will be manufacturing in India in the near future to compete in the D-segment of Indian car market.
Suzuki Kizashi was first unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show and than at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi in 2008 as a concept car. This concept car of Maruti Suzuki is anticipated to be launched in India by 2010. Maruti Suzuki’s conspicuous absence in the D-segment will be filled with the advent of the Kizashi.
Expected to be priced at Rs10 lakh, Maruti Suzuki Kizashi will compete with Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia and the Volkswagen Jetta. Kizashi is likely to be powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 300 bhp, and equipped with a six-speed transmission and 21 inch alloys.
This sedan will come with a radical aero-dynamic design with a completely stylish look. The Kizashi will sport chic tapering headlights and elegant front design which is unusual in other small car models of Maruti Suzuki in India.
The Kizashi concept illustrates and infuses a high degree of “style and sensibility’ to car and we all hope that the appealing blend of space, comfort, style and passionate spirit matching Maruti Suzuki’s user-centered functionality and performace engineering excellence is rolled into one in the form of Maruti Suzuki Kizashi.
