Maruti is not ready to phase out the models Maruti 800 and Omni and is planning to retain the models in the market against its announcement. This year in April, the company has declared that it will stop the production of these cars due to tighter emission norms. It had also revealed that the necessary modification of the engines to make it comply with the emission norms will involve a heavy investment and this is the reason it is planning to pull out the models from the market. It is said that Maruti plans to phase out the cars eyeing the strong competition from the Nano.
But the company clearly states that the debut of the Nano will not affect M800’s sales and it is not in the mood to take out the car from its product portfolio. Instead, it is working on upgrading the Maruti 800 and Omni to obey the Bharat Stage 4 emission norms that will be applicable from 2010. Well, Maruti has taken an intelligent step by not discontinuing its iconic car models M800 and Omni.

All the youngsters who want to buy a car would be disappointed if M800 and Omni were to be pulled out of the market. M800 offers full value of money and Omni is as tough as a SUV floral the rugged paths in India. Thank god it is staying.
Even when i read news about phasing out M800, i was shocked. The car is doing well and i really don't see any genuine reason for it to phase out. It is a best affordable car for a family of four.
I was really sad when i heard the news about M800 to be phased out. The little wonder is truly a great family car with affordable price. It is always the best car for the beginners. I also own a M800 and am really happy with its performance.
Great that company has taken a wise decision by not phasing out the the little wonder. M800 once upon a time used to be the stylish car with an affordable price but now with the modern technology and styles, somewhere it is lost. but still it is great car especially for the beginners.
Thanks for posting this it was helpful for a paper I am now writing for my finals. Thanks
