After the glorious history of Indica in India, Tata now plans to transform the hatchback into a sedan. The Tata Indica Vista is one of the recent Indica versions introduced by Tata Motors.
It’s not something that requires complete transformation of the structure but just an extension of the boot. To do so, Tata has lengthened the wheelbase and redesigned the boot with new and stylish taillamps. It means the car will have more space compare to its sibling.
Apart from that you will also find new engines in the sedan version of the Indica Vista. Tata presently plans to equip the car with the common rail engine from its own stable. Furthermore, it also plans to borrow the multijet engines from Fiat. The new car is likely to cost Rs 5 Lakh.
There are many speculations and controversies as to why Tata plans to transform its 10 years old Indica hatchback into a sedan. But the answer to that is clear and explanative. Tata is simply trying to move away from the ‘Taxi’ image that the Indica carries and want to offer a completely new vista and feel to Indica lovers.

But I wonder will the Indica actually be a success in its sedan version? I don’t think so because it would give a completely new look to the hatchback that many people still like. If you compare it with Swift I feel that the hatchback is much preferred than the sedan version of it.

You are talking about the Tata Indigo Vista, right? I think that car will definitely rock in India. Many people have appreciated the likes of the Indigo and the technologies of the Indica Vista. Vista is also a localized car that is again a strong advantage of the car. so, at a stage where the Indigo and Indica will combine to form the Indigo Vista I think one of the best new sedans will be introduced.
Car is slightly redesigned and now it has great & stylish looks.extra boot space has been added. It is going to give stiff competation.
Looks like its the make over season for all the cars. I came across so many new about upgraded versions of the existing models. I think car manufacturers are thinking on the saving mode. It is better to improve the existing model rather than launching a new model at this time of recession.
