It was very recently the Skoda introduced the all new Superb for 2009. If you remember, initially the car manufacturer brought out only single petrol variant which sports a 1.8-litre engine and a 7-speed automatic transmission. Skoda 2009 also offers additional features like front and rear parking sensor, pedal shift for the seven-speed gearbox and eight front and rear seat airbags.

Now the company added two more variants to new Skoda Superb- a diesel variant and another petrol variant. The diesel version of Superb exhibits 2.0-litre TDI PD with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Coming to the new petrol variant, it is bigger than the existing version in terms of engine. It is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine and offers an impressive fuel economy.

The car manufacturer is setting itself well on the Indian ground by launching more new models and adding new variants with latest technologies. The competition is very high and Skoda is well prepared to face the challenge with the power of its model range in India.

  1. I have heard that Skoda Superb has won many awards but all outside India. Why not the car has received any award in India? In the international market the car has won many awards like the 2008 Golden Steering Wheel, Car of the Year, Most Beautiful Car, Best Company Car and Auto Trophy. Are the features in India-specific car different from the one in the international market?
