Safer Nanos to Replace Autos in Bangalore

Nano is still under continuous talks and conversations. And at a time when black and yellow taxis on Mumbai streets are ready to be replaced by black and yellow Santro, Bangalore streets are hoping to witness replacements of black and yellow autos by Nano.

There are many autos plying on Bangalore roads and now the auto driver union in the city is discussing the feasibility of replacing autos with safer Nanos. And if you deeply think over it the option is not bad. Infact both autos and Nanos have almost a similar running cost that accounts for an approximate of Rs 7/km. And above all the cost of the Nano pushes more and more auto drivers to opt for the world’s cheapest car.

There are many other factors that have prompted this line of thought. Apart from offering a safer ride Nano would also offer a cost-effective and comfortable ride when compared to an auto rickshaw.

Now the question remains would Tata Motors allow its legendary car Nano to be painted in black and yellow. If yes then the Bangalore streets would be packed by black and yellow Nanos. But still it’s a long way to go because this kind of replacement is possible only after the Nano production starts in full swing in the Gujarat facility.

Black and Yellow Santro on Mumbai Streets

Mumbai streets will now be packed with black and yellow Santro taxis. The Mumbai Taxi Union decides to replace the 25 year old taxis with a new car that may better suit the needs of the tourists as well as be cost-efficient.

The first batch of Santro was handed over to the Taxi Union at a ceremony organized at Modi Hyundai dealership. But for now only Santro will replace the old Fiat taxis and gradually this number will be increased to 1250 by December. And furthermore there are about 50,000 old taxis plying on Mumbai roads that are to be replaced.

Hyundai Santro is a proven and low-maintenance small car with capacious cabin and functional features, and high-end reliability. Earlier there were speculations that the taxi market wanted to target the world’s cheapest car Nano or Maruti Suzuki WagonR to replace the old taxis. But then why Santro, why not Nano or WagonR?

If we closely look at the Nano it is a cost-effective and fuel-efficient car but as a taxi the car is not viable as it is can comfortably accommodate only 3 people apart from the driver. And about the WagonR it could definitely be a good option but maybe Maruti Suzuki is not willing to enter the taxi segment. Hyundai wanted to make a breakthrough in the Mumbai taxi market and so introduced its low-priced and high-performance car in the segment.

To add more joy to the taxi market the company also offers its Santro to taxi owners at a discounted price of Rs 2, 42, 500. Now the Mumbai streets will witness a new fleet of taxis.

F1 Malaysian Car Race

Formula 1’s second race which was held in Malaysia got victory to the Brawn GP with the Jenson Button taking away the first position. The victory is commendable as despite the stormy and unpredictable shower, the car which never raced in rain before had taken every for surprise. The second position was taken by Nick Heidfeld of BMW where Timo Glockas of Toyota came in the third position. However, Rubens Barrichello of Brawn GP came in the fifth position.

Due to the impulsive weather, the car race had to come to an end with only completing 31 laps. The last time I remember when rain hit the race was in 2002 during Australian grand prix. As the race had to stop at the 31st lap, the winner was awarded only half the points than actual. With new regulation he race has to complete at least 75 percent for the participants to get complete point which is also why, one or two of the participant’s total point reflect a .5.

Hope in the next race which will be held in China on 19th of April would complete all its laps with out any hindrance from the nature.

Nano is in Great Demand

New Tata Nano Cars In India

After hearing the launch delay of Tata Nano in 2008, people were disappointed and their level of spirit fell but now Nano has once again created a curiosity among the people with its final launch. The excitement is well seen with record number of bookings for the ultra cheap car.

The interesting part of the Nano is that in just a span of five days more than 51,000 forms for Nano has been sold only from the Tata dealers. This shows the Nano demand. But sadly the car manufacturer has limited the production to 50,000 cars in the initial years. This means many people would have to wait longer.

This figure is just from the dealers, forms are also available at other places like SBI, its subsidiaries and associates, other chosen financiers and outlets of Tata Finance, Westside, Croma, Titan and Tata Indicom have also registered more bookings.

Must say Nano is steeling the show and has spread its magic across the country. The low cost car is in great demand. The car manufacturer is going to make a good bag of money with Nano.

In order to make it more easy, it has tied–up with various banks for easy car loans at competitive price. Tata foreseeing the success of Nano has created necessary arrangements for its customers.

Nano Ends the Unchallenged Run of Maruti Suzuki

Till date Maruti Suzuki was proudly known as the car manufacturer of most fuel-efficient cars in the Indian car market. There was no car manufacturer who was able to challenge the fuel efficiency Maruti offered in its entire portfolio of car. But now the unchallenged run of Maruti Suzuki comes to an end with the launch of world’s cheapest car Nano.

A thought may have evoked in your mind as to how a small car like Nano was able to end this successful run of the country’s leading car manufacturer. But the answer is as simple and straight. In the recent testing and quality verification the Automobile Research Association of India has testified that Tata Motors’ small car Nano is more fuel-efficient than most of the frugal car models in India.

The association tests and certifies all commercially launched cars in the country under standard conditions. Recently the associated tested around 450 models in the country out of which Nano turned out to be a winner with a certified fuel efficiency of 23.6 km/l.

At this stage Maruti was pushed under the Nano with its winning A-Star at the second position recording a fuel efficiency of 19.6 km/l. And this was followed by the third position again attained by Maruti’s highest selling Alto with an efficiency score of 18.1 km/l. The third position was tied up with the Hyundai i10.

Nano taking over Maruti’s car models in terms of mileage sounds really amazing. Tata has never been able to overpower the success that Maruti had been rejoicing in the country since past 25 years. And don’t even remember whether the J. D. Power Asia, a known research firm, has rated Tata cars for its excellence in performance, mileage, or dependability. But the launch of Nano has changed the scenario.

With this Tata desires to climb the value chain and achieve a strong foothold in the Indian car market. The launch of Nano is itself a breakthrough in the car industry and further the Nano achieving the highest fuel efficiency marks another significant milestone in the company’s history.
