Mahindra and Mahindra has recently handed the keys of the stylish Bolero Stinger to the dashing young cricketer Gautam Gambhir. The macho car built on the customized concept of Bolero perfectly suits the attitude of the left-hand opening batsman who with his versatility and talent has sets his individual position in the world of cricket.

Stinger being a first-of-its-kind vehicle combines stunning looks, power performance, and spirited driving dynamics. The vehicle is powered by a 97 bhp, CRDe engine and is available as two wheel drive. Stinger is meant for adventurous people who have a thrust for speed and thrill.

The car is available with an array of customized features. It comes with exciting and interesting features like the custom built guards, auxiliary lamps, rear roll cage in black colour, and style scoops and bezels. The bonnet is built in mesh with style body cladding. The other customizable features are modified body-shell and re-panelling, cargo cover, stylish alloy wheels, custom built taillamps, bezels with LED technology, twin exhausts, customized door trim pads with bottle holders, a premium MP3 player, and a reverse camera with sensors. The rugged and stylish car also has appealing interiors that offers custom fit colour co-ordinated interiors, customised floor carpeting, and seat upholstery in leather and suede combination.

Stunning New Sorento at the Seoul Motor Show

Kia Motors may sound new in the Indian car market but is not new for the international markets. Recently at the Seoul Motor Show Kia dazzled the auto critics, car enthusiasts, and auto manufacturers from all around the world with its stunning new Sorento.

The new Sorento with an all-new look is offered with a choice of three engines comprising 2.4-litre 174bhp petrol, 2.2-litre 197bhp diesel, and a 2.7-litre V6 165bhp engine which will run on LPG. The car not only offers a choice in engines but also in transmission and wheel drive system. When it comes to transmission one can select from five-speed manual, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic whereas in the wheel drive system there is a choice of both two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

The all-new Sorento will be longer, sturdier, and more impressive than its predecessor. The upgraded interiors with a sweeping dashboard, three-cylinder instrumentation panel, and supreme car audio system with an option of six, eight, or ten speakers add to the appeal and demand of the car.

Sorento is a successful car in UK and the upgraded variant will be available by 2010. But in India there are only speculations that the car may come but not in near future. Infact before the car arrives, the car manufacturer has to set its first foothold in India.

No Scope to Escape Traffic Police

Many times drivers try to escape traffic police breaking the road rules and regulations. But now there is no chance to escape as a new advanced system is designed to record traffic offenders and take necessary actions against them.

The new traffic control system is known as “Trafficop”. Designed by the Pune University of Science and Technology, the introduction of the new system is a concrete step taken for reducing traffic violations that in turn will also reduce car accidents and road fatalities. The advanced traffic system will be fixed in the next three months in Pune and in other cities it may still take some time to come.

To have a better control on traffic, police officers will be given a Blackberry mobile phone that will be connected to the main server of the Trafficop. The system will record all the traffic information and vehicle details of the offender. If in case there is any violation, the police officer will just have to feed in the details of the vehicle recorded by the system and the Blackberry phone will give them the complete details of the vehicle owner. All the Blackberry phones with the police officers will be able to have an instant access to the centralized database of the vehicles and vehicle owners available with the RTO (Regional Traffic Office).

Using GPRS technology, police officer will also be able to generate a receipt, gauge the amount of compounding fees, and even report the RTO if in case the police suspend the driving license of any offender.

So, it’s is the time for everyone to cautiously follow the traffic rules and regulations. With the introduction of this system, it will be impossible to escape or neglect the traffic rules. Respect road rules and follow them to have a hassle free and pleasurable drive.

Tata Nano-From Dealer to Retailers

Earlier cars were sold only at dealer but with the innovative technologies, the mode of selling has moved one step ahead with online sales. The Nano has turned many well-established theories down, but this one was most unexpected. The first day of Nano booking was just beyond imagination with Tata dealerships buzzing with potential buyers. And the most unexpected and surprising factor was that Tata retail outlets like Westside and Croma received more applications than dealerships.

It is said that a total of 535 booking were done at two dealerships in Bangalore, but the Westside a shopping outlet on Commercial Street in the same city had received 1,250 fully filled applications. And the Westside outlet in Jayanagar received 89 forms. Further to that even the Croma outlet on Brigade road made five bookings.

It is interesting to note that retail outlets have taken the sheen off car dealerships in this case. Tata Motors will surely reap a windfall through this strategy. It has shown that retailing units can be than clothes, watches, electronics, and edibles.

In times of recession when automotive companies want to push sales, this seems to be a viable marketing strategy. Manufacturers can reach people easily through commercial places and try and influence consumers to go for a buy.

New Tata Nano Cars In India

The world’s cheapest car Nano has thrilled the Indian masses and also India’s first F1 circuit driver Narain Karthikeyan. He is proud of Tata Motors for launching the small car saying that “Nano is a reflection of Indian innovation and its impact on the world.”

Narain can’t stop praising Tata Nano after having driven it several times. He was among the select few to have test driven India’s small car extensively. Narain testifies that Tata Motors claims for superior quality and performance are true. The horses are ample for a 623 cc car. It is not known if he has booked for the first phase of 1Lakh Nano cars to be allotted in July.

Narain Karthikeyan has been quick to put to rest the fears of several people on Nano’s one on road performance. Based on his experience of driving the car he said that it is marvelous piece of engineering. It is lighter than Maruti 800 and delivers high level comfort that will surprise its occupants. He believes that the Nano rush is real and is worth much more than the Rs One Lakh price tag offered by Tata Motors. He re-affirms that Tata Nano is a top quality product.

Clearly, he has been floored by Nano’s charms, despite his F1 experience. This clearly highlights that Nano is more than a cheap car.
