Hyundai’s thirst for eco-friendly cars even at a time of industry downturn and low profitability is commendable. During this time of dwindling market, it’s really difficult for the car manufacturers to enter mass production of any cars but still they are rolling out new cars to ignite an excitement in the market.
With the decline of Indian Rupee value, the car prices have seen a jump across almost all the makes. But this has increased the profit for the companies who are exporting cars to international markets. Export market in India is really high with car manufacturers like Hyundai exporting a range of their cars. The most popular i-series from Hyundai’s stable has banged the global car market with brilliant designs and excellent engineering.
This might be the reason that Hyundai denies to step back and wants to move forward with the plan to introduce eco-friendly cars in the market. The company plans to start the production of hybrid cars and plug-in hybrids by next year. Technologies are recognized but the infrastructure is yet to be established.
In the international market, the company has already unveiled the concept of Elantra LPI, a hybrid version of the popular compact car. This car will be driven by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and lithium polymer batteries.
Furthermore, the company has huge plans for the international as well as domestic car markets. But now the trend has completely shifted to the production of nature friendly and fuel efficient cars.
