Actual Ownership Cost of Tata Nano

New Tata Nano Cars In India

Every news channel, news paper, and magazine is singing the praising tune for the Tata Nano. The little wonder on wheels is continuously creating sensation since its first public appearance at the 2008 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The car now made its entry in the market crossing all hurdles and troubles.

We all know that the highlight of the car is its commendable Rs 1 Lakh price tag, but the actual price of the car will exceed the one lakh mark. But the question is how much?

The base variant of the Nano which carries a price tag of Rs 1 Lakh is said to cost Rs 1.35 Lakh on road. This would be inclusive of road tax, registration, and also the insurance. And if one is going for a car loan option, then for a term of 5 years there would be an additional cost of Rs 2,300 (EMI) for base variant. For a high-end variant, the EMI would be Rs 3450-4000 for a five year loan while one-time insurance costs would be over Rs 6,000. Even the spare parts cost is not much different from other cars. It is learnt that individual spares of the car is likely to cost the same as those of the Indica.

Many say that Nano would be a best replacement for a two-wheeler but its insurance is said to be costlier than a two-wheeler. And prices will not remain the same forever with the rising cost of living. In recent times, many car companies have increased their car prices stating inflation and high input costs. And Nano will not be an exception either. In a very short time one can see the rising price of Nano. So is it actually a ‘ONE LAKH’ car?

  1. I really dont understand one things, when the on road price of the car is more than one lakh then how can the company say it as 'one lakh' car. The high end model is costing nearly Rs 2 lakh. And i am sure just like cother car manufacturers increasing the pricethe Nano prices too will go high.

  2. I agree that the insurance of Nano is costlier than two-wheeler but don’t you think it is safer than the two-wheelers especially for small families. The vision of Nano was infused into the mind of Ratan Tata when he saw a man riding a motorbike and was drenching in rain with his wife and children. And for family like this Nano is the best option. If paying an extra cost for insurance can offer a safer ride then its good enough.

  3. Nano will definitely cost more than one lakh. I feel the company is trying to grab the attention with this 'One Lakh' price tag. When one has to pay more than a lakh to buy Nano then how can the company brand it as 'one Lakh' car?

  4. I worship what you maintain done here. I like the area where you say you are doing this to give without hope but I would try on through all the comments that this is working for you as well.

  5. I was looking representing momentous info on this subject. The information was consequential as I am wide to set up my own portal. Thanks for providing a missing relationship in my business.

  7. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
