At the time when only a few conventional car models were available in India, no car manufacturer thought of bringing a convertible to the Indian car market. Indian car industry during that time only comprised of cost effective car models.
When globalization happened in the country, it witnessed a plethora of car models covering all shapes, sizes, designs, and price range. But the convertible segment was completely ignored which was though prevalent in the overseas market.
Interestingly, during the early 90s, Mumbai based car manufacturer San Motors Ltd. ventured into this segment. The company launched the model San Storm with all the qualities that give a sense of ownership pride.
This convertible model comes with dynamic style, unmatched comfort, and good performance. It was designed by the world famous Le Mans Design Group which is known to sculpture the French supercar Venturi and a number of cars for many renowned car manufacturers like the Peugeot and the Renault.
With affordable price tag the car suits well in the price conscious Indian car market. The standard version of the car comes with air conditioning, alloy wheels, central locking, and leather seating. The 1149cc engine generates a maximum power of 58.5 bhp.
The company exports Storm to countries like Nepal, Cyprus, Malta, Bermuda, and UK. Its Bangalore plant is also an auto component supplier to many automobile companies in India and abroad. Currently, they are in the process of designing their next model that is a Sport Re-Creationary Vehicle (SRV) expected to arrive within a year’s time.

San Storm? I am hearing this name for the first time. Is this a part of the Indian car market? Or a new car company?
No its a very old car manufacturer that is known to design convertibles for the Indian car market. Sadly, it was not recognized and known for long. It's purely a Mumbai-based car company so very much a part of the Indian car industry.
