Mercedes-Benz introduced the concept ‘Fascination’ at the Paris Auto Show in 2008. The dramatic new concept by the German car manufacturer explores a new car design language with vibrant and sculpted cues. The new concept draws inspiration from the classic Volvo P1800 car and a kind of crushed rear design from Aston Martin called “Shooting Brakes”. The ‘Fascination’ concept car is futuristic and elegant with a personified smooth flowing bonnet and flush-fit touch. Open door handles, dual-piece headlights, and extended rear lights add extra elegance and beauty to the car.
A peep into the car reveals an amazing continuance of the V-shape structure of the car's exterior into the interior. An impressive dashboard displaying silver dials is the centre of attraction and the interior is adorned with high-quality woven fabrics and artistically crafted features.
In terms of power, the concept is graced with a 2.2 litre Bluetec diesel engine that produces an impressive 210 bhp. The Bluetec engine complies to stringent emission norms of the future and it is the same one that will be introduced in the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class that is set to roll out on Indian roads this year.
The fascinating concept by Mercedes-Benz is aimed at providing car designers with an opportunity to explore new horizons through an unconventional route.

Is this the same as the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class that is to launch in India this year?
No, aradhana, its a compeltely different concept. Infact the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is revamped with extra safety features and the Fascination concept only shares the engine of the E-Class. These are different cars.
Fascination concept sounds to be fscinating. What say? Can anyone brief me more on the bluetech diesel engine. Do v have this engine in any of the Indian car?
I am fascinated, this concept car of merc breaks the conventional flow exteriors and gives a extra bulge. Vibrant in design and "body language"!!. With this much of bhp, its quite impressive. Truly fascinating!!
I dont find anything fascinating in the concept. Technologies are becoming so advanced that every car looks fascinating. May be the actual fascination comes in when the car is actually put on roads.
