Volkswagen has introduced a new generation common rail diesel (CRDi) engine into its model Passat. It is speculated that the company is quietly moving away from its conventional Pump Duse (PD) engine technology to a more advanced common rail technology.
Volkswagen dealers in India have also liquidated their Passat stocks that possess the company’s traditional PD engine. The best part is that the change of engine technology has not brought any change in the car price.
The new generation CRDi has now become industry standards. And this has compelled the company to shift to the new engine technology. It is beleived that in terms of power output there is not much difference between the CRDi and the PD. Surely, there is a massive difference in terms of efficiency and performance between both the engines.
CRDi engine definitely has a winning technology behind its design, composition, structure, and performance that has supported it to gain popularity in the industry.
