Technology and innovations are moving faster than ever. With so many technologies creeping in, speech technology is soon going to stamp upon the car market.
Soon we’ll have cars that can be commanded through speech. The introduction is aimed at producing a safer, easier, and more comfortable drive.
This innovative technology has already made its venture in the international market and is now set to foray into the Indian car market. It would be used for navigation aids or mobile telephony purpose.
Ready to enter with a US based company, Nuance, the speech technology will revolutionize automotive engineering in India. The system will recognize speech of the car driver and deliver the required specifications. It’s just incredible to know that cars will work on voice command.
The latest version of Fiat 500 is already equipped with the impressive and functional speech technology.

This means now we can sit on the driver’s seat and just order for car features to operate. Technology is moving so fast that gradually cars are becoming robotized.
Hey my friend, with the new speech technology you just cant sit and order. At present, it is used for only navigational aids and mobile telephony. You have to control the steering wheel, this wont run with your speech. May be in future any such technology creeps in and cars become completely robotized.
This means we can control all the functions of the navigation system through voice. But I don’t understand how that system will work. How will it be able to recognize voice, every individual has different accent and language.
No clue as to how this speech technology will work. But I am sure that the system will be compatible to English language and western accent. This may create a problem in the country as in India we have a completely different accent. Don’t know how successful will this be in the market?
Humans are controlled by speech and now the same is used to control automobiles also? Wonderful.. they say it is safe and easier.. but what will happen when the machines malfunction??
