Indica Vista and Sumo Grande in South Africa

Tata Motors is always in news for some or the other reason. This time Tata is in news for displaying two new passenger vehicles and a one-ton pickup at the ongoing Johannesburg International Motor Show.

Tata Indica has already marked its presence in South Africa with its cars for several years and now Indica Vista and Sumo Grande (SUV) will join the range. Tata sees South Africa as a strategic market for its product and by adding more models to its line will further help the company to strengthen its position in South African car market.

Besides the passenger cars, Tata has also showcased a variety of commercial vehicles at the Tata Commercial Vehicle World that included the new Tata Ace pickup, known locally as a ‘bakkie’ along with trucks, tippers, and buses.

  1. Indica Vista! I heard that the new Indica was designed and manufactured keeping in mind the taste of Indian populcae. With this will the car run successfully in South Africa. I think people there have different demands and aspirations from their cars.

  2. The Great African Safari of the Tatas..Its a news of pride for us Indians that Indian vehicles are rolling worldwide. Tata has already stepped in African market and the new kids in the town Indica Vista, which is creatign a wave in the auto indistry and the Sumo too are to roll on African Roads.

  3. No shefy, that's not true. Today many 'made in India' cars' are exported to foreign countries. Tata has also exported many of its cars to global car markets. Though the Inidica Vista was designed with keeping in mind the Indian conditions, it will do wonders in African markets as well.

  4. I think that if the company has decided to export these cars to African markets it must have a given a thought over it. No car company makes a car launch unless and until it is perfectly fit for the desired market. So, even Tata must have considered all the ifs and buts before launching the Vista and Sumo Grande in Africa.
