Hyundai Challenges Maruti 800

Seeing the success of Hyundai Santro and Hyundai i10, the company plans to roll out more small cars in the Indian car market.

The company has no plans to compete with the Nano but desires to design and develop a car that falls in line with one of the most successful small car, Maruti Suzuki 800. Definitely lower than the price tag of Santro but falling in the territory of 800, the company aims to produce a baby Hyundai.

It’s more exciting to know that Hyundai Motors has plans to design the car based on the Santro platform and will bring the car close to the price tag of the Maruti 800.

Smaller than the proposed Hyundai i20, this car will rock the Indian market and will definitely drive the car market with its long and accelerated journey.

It’s good to know that. But is only the price tag in line with the Maruti Suzuki 800 or even the performance and fuel efficiency?

Hyundai has produced a good number of high performance and fuel efficient cars. Talk about the Hyundai Santro and the Hyundai i10, Hyundai cars that are rocking in India. I have also heard that Hyundai i20 is also a great car with better performance and fuel efficiency. With such a high end technology and expertise, Hyundai will definitely make cars tough to compete with improved performance, drivability and fuel efficiency.

Hyundai cars have always been the car of choice. May it be the sedan or the hatchbacks. After Santro and Getz, now the cutie I10 is catching pace and is a huge success. the stylish exterior and the performance makes I10 a powerful beauty and Hyundai's decision to make more compact cars is really appreciable.

Is Hyundai gradually trying to lead to the top most position in the Indian car market. Till date, Maruti Suzuki was tagged as a market leader in small car segment but today many car manufacturers are lining up their small cars. At this stage, it is tough to say who will top the position in the market segment.

Can i10, come in par with the fame and reputation Maruti 800 gained through these years. 800 which was famous among the nuclear families from the day it was launched. Though its variants may have changed, but the name it has in the household still remains, especially due to its re-sale value. Lets see what Hyundai does??
