Skoda Octavia in India made great impact with its launch. The model turned to be great success with its firm build quality and stylish design and not to forget the performance.
Later Skoda launched a new Octavia, christened as Skoda Laura which was priced a bit higher than the old one. Because the market for the old Octavia was good, the company continued selling the model along with the new car.
After two successful versions of Octavia, the company now plans to roll out the third generation Octavia for the Indian market. This new car is expected to roll out in 2009 with innovative design and upmarket interiors.
The new Octavia will also be loaded with the latest Volkswagen engine technology, 1.4 TSI engine that delivers 140 bhp. This innovative engine technology is supercharged and turbocharged which further improves the overall car performance.

A new Skoda Octavi! That's interesting. I think that old Octavia is propelled by a 1.9TDi engine that has a fuel economy of about 13 kmpl. And now a new car with crtain modifications and Volkswagen's 1.4 TSI engine seems to deliver a beter fuel economy and better performance as well.
Will the car phase out the old Octavia after the launch of the new one?
Till now, there is no news to phase out the old Corolla. Later on, nothing can be said. The company may change itsplan and phase out the old model to give a wider space to the new Toyota Corolla Altis.
