The Toyota’s small wonder for Indian market will get an imported heart. The engine will be imported from the company’s plant in Thailand or Japan.
Not yet named, the small cars is likely to imitate the popular Yaris model. Once the small car touches the sales volume of around 2.5 lakh vehicles per annum, there are chances that the engine will be manufactured locally in India. Currently, the small car is at the development stage and will hit the Indian shores in a couple of year.
TKM's new plant at Bangalore will accommodate at least seven on-site suppliers, who manufacture heavy components like seats and other metal parts for the car.
The Toyota is also planning to enter the green revolution in India with its model Prius. The other new models in the list waiting to be launched are Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Lexus. All these new models will give a tough competition to the existing one in the Indian car market.

If the car is to imitate Yaris, then I think the small car will really do wonders in the Indian car market. The imported engine will enjoy the benefits of better performance and low-fuel consumption.
