On its 100th birthday, GM is happy to look back and rejoice the milestone the company has created in the past one century.
The company was founded on September 16, 1908 by William C. (Billy) Durant, General Motors. Since then, the company has launched nearly over 450 million cars and trucks in the global auto market. All these vehicles are sold globally under different brand names – Chevrolet, Buick, GM Daewoo, Cadillac, GMC, Holden, Opel, Pontiac, HUMMER, Saab, Vauxhall Saturn, and Wuling.
With so many brands coupled with manufacturing operations in about 33 countries, the company today is believed to be the one of the world’s largest auto manufacturer.
In India, the company has its manufacturing plants in Halol, Gujarat and Talegaon from where GM has rolled out a slew of launches like Chevrolet Tavera, Chevrolet SRV, Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Captiva for the Indian market.
Apart from celebrating its birthday anniversary, GM also has another reason to rejoice. That’s the 5 successful years of Chevrolet brand in India. Yes, Chevrolet is celebrating its fifth anniversary in India when GM completes 100.
