New Lancer for New Generation

Mitsubishi Motors is currently working to introduce a new Lancer for the new generation.

The plan to launch the new sibling is aimed at participating in the midsize car segment once again. When Cedia was launched in the market, it showcased lack of interest from the customer view point. Lancer customers were not satisfied with the bland styling and dull interiors of the Cedia. This forced the company to re-think on the launched Cedia.

After that there were rumours that Mitsubishi has stopped the production of Cedia in response to the customer’s reviews. In the mean time, the company was in process to design and manufacture a whole new lancer that will fit the taste of Indian car buyers.

It will come with a new chin, sporty front grille, innovative headlamps and a Kenwood Dual DIN touch screen music system. Apart from this various advanced features will be available in the car, fulfilling the increasing demand of the present generation.

No specific dates are announced for the launch of this facelifted version of Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia. But speculations are there that it will roll out during the festive season this year.

Smaller than Jazz

Currently, Jazz is globally considered to be the smallest car in Honda’s portfolio of cars. Now with high inflation, the company feels the need to produce cars smaller than its Jazz.

Aimed at reducing environmental emissions and shortage of fuel in near future, the company is also in progress to design and develop small cars that will take on less fuel and will be lower in CO2 emissions. The way forward, Honda plans to launch small and affordable hybrid engines. It also has plans to add more number of diesel engines in its car portfolio.

Honda Jazz will hit the Indian shores by next year and the company will launch another small car in a couple of years, a global car with an improved engine technology and better performance.

Expectations are high that Honda will now enter the core of Indian car industry and establish a stronger niche with a range of small cars.

Audi Technology

The best brains of Audi have come up with an innovation that will take the frustration out of waiting for traffic signals.

Audi’s innovative system, christened as Travolution, is an awesome technology. This system will inform the driver in advance when the traffic lights ahead is going to change and whether the car will pass the signal at the current speed. The most interesting part of this advanced system is that if there is no traffic on road, then this latest invention by Audi will automatically turn the signal green. The system would be supported by new hardware installed at every traffic signal. Isn’t it something exciting and convenient?

This device is still under development and is being tested in Ingolstadt, Germany.

Such advanced technology will have a greater impact in Indian car market but sadly as every goodie comes last to India, so will this Audi Travolution.

Pay More for Imported Cars

Wake up car importers!

It’s time for car importers to open their eyes and see the expected price hike for imported cars.

Yes, the prices for imported cars are expected to rise due to the weakening of rupee against dollar. At this stage of downturn, car exporters are rejoicing the market but reality is that the importers will have a tough time.

We just wonder how severely this will affect the foreign car manufacturers like Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Volvo, and Porsche, who are importing their cars to India as Completely Built Units or CBUs. Even Honda CR-V would be affected by weakening of the rupee.

This will definitely increase the prices of imported cars. All the luxury car manufacturers are trying hard to cushion the impact on Indian car customers but till how long?
