Skoda Plans to Drive a Package of Cars to India

With so many car manufacturers reviving their expansion plans in India, Skoda is also planning to strengthen its presence in the most promising Indian car market.

The company entered the Indian market with its successfully running, Skoda Octavia. Thereafter, it has launched Skoda Fabia, Skoda Luara and Skoda Superb. Now, the company plans to drive in eight new models in the next five years.

The first target for the company is to launch a small cars priced below the tag price of Fabia. The company also has plans to roll out its prominent cars Yeti and Roomster hopefully in a couple of years. The new Skoda Superb is also expected to launch in early 2009 after its great success in Europe.

The cars will be available with different price brackets for all type of customers. Not a bad move! Hope these models to get the same fame and success like other small cars in India.

A "school" of Skoda.. Taking cue from Fiat, Skoda, is also planning to reinforce its grasp on Indian auto industry, which is a good move. Skoda, the name, which comes when one thinks of power and luxury, is coming out with 8 new models in next 5 years. Fabia, which is running smoothly in hatchback segment, will be joined by other small cars. Good news for Skoda lovers, that these Small Skoda will be tagged at an affordable value.

Dear Sk_Rocks, I deny your point. When I think about power and luxury, Skoda never comes to my mind. No doubt that Skoda produces good cars but not the best in-class. If you talk about power, then nothing is better than Maruti and if luxury is a concern, then why go for Skoda, why not for Mercedes Benz. And if there a blend of power and luxury in a limited price segment, then I think Hyundai Accent, Maruti SX4 and Honda City are the best in town.

Cars, cars, cars! Everywhere I am just hearing about cars. How many cars are to come to India? With so many cars it has really become difficult to choose the best. From past three years I am planning to buy a car, everytime when I decide to purchase, I get to hear that a new car is about to launch. When finally the new car is launched, I get to hear that a better version is about to come and again I change my mind to purchase a car. Unfortunately till date I haven’t bought any car and I am not yet sure when will I buy one. I have heard that the upcoming Skoda cars are also good.

Cool! You are perfectly right Meccy. With so many cars coming in, it has really become tough to make a perfect purchase decision. Few months back when the talks of Nano were at hype, I had decided to buy one for my small family. A couple of months back, Tata announced the launch of Nano diesel version. Then I decided to wait for that and today, when the launch date of Nano is almost to come, the company announces the launch of E-Nano in the forthcoming year. Skoda is doing the same. Launching so many cars together that consumers change their purchase decision for the upcoming model and eventually, at the end no car will be purchased.
