Tata Nano has gained most attention among upcoming cars. There is list of cars waiting to hit the road. And one such model is ‘A-Star’ which was unveiled in the 2008 Auto Expo.
The car is expected to make a grand appearance by 2008 and few prototypes have been caught testing indicating that it should be ready for the people by this Diwali. The car carries 3 cylinders with 1 litre capacity engine churning out 64 bhp. It will also offer 1.2 litres, 80 bhp petrol units and would compete with the recently launched Hyundai’s i10 Kappa.
Now the most awaited part, the price! It will carry the price tag ranging between Rs.3-4 lakh and the high model will be enhanced with airbags and ABS (Anti-lock brake system). The car looks like an animation movie car with its ‘cute’ front design, sporty rear and sturdy bumpers.
Now only time can tell us who will celebrate Diwali in full swing. Will it be the Nano who will steal the show or A-Star will add another star to Maruti-Suzuki?

Heard a lot about this wonder car A-star. Have plans to buy this car. It has got amazing safety features. I have seen picture of this dashing car. Anyone would love to buy one. I am planning from a long time to buy a car in 3 lakhs range. may be can give a thought by shelling out a little more and get this lovely car. I am eagerly waiting for its launch
I'm on for a blast this diwali. Tata's gift to Indians on diwali "Nano", Suzuki's gift "A Star". Though there is a huge difference in price tag, but its for sure that Indian roads are going to be ruled by small cars. With many more auto giants zeroing into small cars.. I think the Small Car Bug has bitten them severely. Lets wait and see if the small triumphs over the big!!
Cool that Maruti's A-star coming on this Diwali... Was planning to gift my son a car this is really a good news for me. I buy only Maruti cars and was planning an Alto. I think the better option would be this new car. Its looks like it has some good safety features. so this can be the one i can actually buy
