General Motors Investing more in Indian Facility

Car manufacturers are moving one after the other to invest for building their production facilities in India. The main objective of doing so is the low-cost of production and availability of engineering skills.

General Motors is planning to invest nearly an amount of Rs 1200 crore to set up the power train producing facility at the Talegaon plant, near Pune.

The power train producing facility is expected to produce almost 2 lakh units per year. The company will also use the plant for producing car engines and gearboxes for the Spark that will be exported globally.

In order to finalise the plan of Talegaon facility and implement ideas of a successful plant, the company will sign the memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra Government.

  1. So many car manufacturers are paving their way to enter Indian car market. This shows the sign of improvements that is happening in India from past few years. It is really good many of the car makers are coming into India as it is helpful in many ways. one such is that we have huge manpower and this definitely helps to use manpower resource that also benefits India as there will not be much people unemployed the burden will reduce tremendously if man power resources are used. This is only one factor there are many such factors that are helpful to the Indians. This is all in the hands of the government to encourage the global auto makers to enter Indian car market.

  2. Good that many of the car companies are planning to invest in India this is really surprising hope that more and more companies invest and I personally feel that government should give them good support as it is not easy they need some kind of support. This definitely leads many of the global automobile companies to enter Indian car market. Already we can see so many different models in the roads this shows how India has improved when compared to 5-6 years back. This proves that India is improving drastically. I am a car lover and wish to see more and more cars in India.
