One More Hybrid Car to Hit Indian Roads
The Indian car market does not have any hybrid cars as of now though they have been around for over two decades in the US and Europe. Hybrid cars consume less fuel and have lower emission levels. Despite all these merits, they have not been popular with the masses because of their exorbitant prices. But now hybrids have become hot favourites with the issue of global warming and energy consumption.
After Honda’s announcement of a launch of the Civic Hybrid in India, the world’s No. 1 hybrid car Toyota Prius is set to arrive too. Prius is the most fuel efficient car in the US. The car is likely to be available at a price tag of Rs 18-20 Lakh.

At Rs 18 lakh-Rs 20 lakh it is cheaper than Honda Civic hybrid priced over Rs 20 lakh. Moreover Prius has better ratings than Civic hybrid. People will obviously go for a Prius than the latter.
With the fuel prices going high, car makers are thinking of other options. Recently Honda announced that india will soon see the hybrid version of Civic and now Toyota Prius too.Looks like after small car trend now it is time for hybrid cars.
Another brand Toyota is all set to roll its hybrid car on Indian Road, Toyota Prius, with all merrits of a hybrid car (though a bit costly) will be soon soon on indian roads. Now its going to be a tug of war between the brands. Lets wait and see who leads!!
The market is for hybrid now.And not doubt that the prices also will be high. But in india will hybrid vehicles be a success? we have to wait n watch.
Its the time of Hybrid Cars, with alarm being raised on global warming and fuel consumption, the vehicles of these kind are the most opted one these days. The most fuel efficient hybrid car of US Toyota Prius is all set to roll on Indian roads. Though the price does not suit majority of Indian customers, but it is surely going to be an asset to Indian roads.
with the fuel prices escalating practically every month, i don't know why indian hybrid cars are not made more affordable for indian consumers to use. not only will this move reduce fuel costs, it also make the world a better place to live in with reduced pollution.
