Nissan to Increase Dealerships
Nissan is seems to gear up for a war in the car market of India. It plans to sell at least 1 lakh cars by 2012 in India. Earlier, it has announced that it will be introducing eight cars over a period of four years. So far, Nissan had concentrated on the niche market with cars priced Rs 40 lakh like the Nissan X-Trail and Teana, and sold 533 units of them last year. Four of the eight cars will be produced at its Chennai plant.
However, in order to promote and market its sales, it has appointed Hover Automotive Indian Private limited to create a sales network. The company plans to establish 55 dealerships within four years to increase its marketing base.
With this move, the company will foray into cities other than Delhi and Mumbai, where it had concentrated so far. Nissan has been traditionally associated with extreme engineering and amazing designing. The small cities roads in Indian will now feature internationally designed cars.

It is good news that Nissan is coming to Indian in such a big way. I had seen Nissan in Dubai and really admired the cars for their performance and design. I was looking forward to drive them in India. Now my dream seems to becoming a reality sooner than later.
