Nissan Looks at Newer Segments

Nissan now plans to come up with entry-level cars for its global market. So far, most of its cars have been utility vehicle or super luxury utility vehicles. They come with the latest engineering and safety technologies and amazing designs. Nissan has overlooked the small car segment for a long time, even though it is based in Japan. Nissan’s biggest markets have been US and Western Europe.

The company now wants to get in to global market by introducing entry-level cars, which will help to attract customers from larger section of the society. Nissan has shifted its gaze to smaller markets like India and Thailand.

Will Nissan could be able to repeat its success story in the small car and ultra-low cost car segment? Whether it will be able to make affordable cars in the same price range or not is an interesting development to watch out for.

  1. Great news….now one more add on in the list of Nano's competitor. Lets see it will be able to beat other cars too in this segment.

  2. Had Nissan not announced its car, it would have been boring just a lone Nano on the roads. Now with competition we can expect more colour and designs. The more the merrier!

  3. I feel Nissan is feeling threatened by small cars. The company has traditionally concentrated in big cars and UV's. But now there is a threat to its survival, if it does not switch modes quickly. The small cars is just the first step in that direction.
