There seems to be a general trend to make bigger cars for India. The Accord is the latest in the list. After Swift turned into sedan Swift Dzire, the companies do not want to stick to the small car trend anymore.
Maruti Suzuki is a leading name in small car, but now it is trying to change the image. The company now wants to be known for bigger cars. The parent company, Japan’s Suzuki Motors is taking several steps to promote its premium cars. Maruti is hiring new staff in marketing to promote its premium cars. It is also recruiting engineers to work on premium cars that start from Rs 7 lakh and above. The company plans to tap the high end market with its new products.

Maruti should not abandon its small car image., The small cars are going to be the future of auto industry. Making a move in the opposite direction would be sucidal.
Maruti is know for its small car image and i think it is little difficult to change the image now as the name Maruti is known in every every house but more as a small car
I feel it is high time for Maruti to change its image from small car.Recently launched SX4 is doing a great job on the roads and has proved that they are not only good with small cars but also with sedans.
