Growing popularity of BMW in India

The image of poverty ridden India seems to sink into the burgeoning flood of cars on the streets. The number of luxury cars rolling by portrays a unique picture.

Take a look at BMW’s sales report for the first quarter of 2008. The number of new BMW cars has increased by nearly a thousand cars in the period from January 2008 to March 2008 – a rise of around 800 percent compared to last year. India topped the list of countries that saw the highest percentage of increase in BMW’s luxury car sales. BMW has truly become a new status symbol for the new age Indians.
