India is one of the most diverse environments in the world ranging from very hot to very cold, which makes it a suitable base for not only manufacturing cars and other vehicles, but also for vehicle testing, which was earlier confined to the European Alps and American deserts. These changes will not only bring in further employment opportunities, but also help manufacturers customize luxury cars to suit Indian roads and Indian drivers instead of just importing tweaked and often completely revamped cars.
Luxury cars to get tested in India
With global car manufacturers moving to India, luxury car makers like BMW, Nissan, Toyota, and Honda are now seeking the government’s assistance to test their cars in India. The manufacturers want to test their cars for durability and performance in Asian markets.
I was surprised to know that India was also considered a destination for luxury cars. I always though they relied on their testing done back home. Anyhow it is good news that India is gaining prominence fro car industry in all spheres. An overall growth in infrastructure will sustain the car industry for a longer period in India.
